My Time At Manago Hotel - Captain Cook, HI I’m about to finish my 5th stay at the Manago Hotel. What amazes me how comfortable I feel here compared to the rest of the island. Of course this place is for budget travelers like me that are into value for the money places. The trade offs are the Manago Hotel... More

Staff was so helpful when I called for reservation. I asked lots of questions and every one was answered satisfactorily. Our room was located third floor, corner unit. I requested a quieter section with private bath. The room had an old time feel. We had a queen size bed and roll away. It was very clean, our private bath was... More

We have stayed at this hotel for at least one night every time we have been on the big island. It is very plain and very clean. The staff has always been very welcoming, and we enjoy the garden and the koi pond. It is a very peaceful place. The restaurant is homestyle with interesting side dishes ( such as... More

We stayed here for two nights on the strong recommendation of a colleague, who is from Hawaii. We were very happy with our experience. This is a working artifact of local culture, and is a welcome alternative to homogenized resort hotels. Everybody we encountered was happy to see us, and the restaurant was great. Book one of the Japanese style... More

The Manago Hotel is a quiet gem that offers great value for your stay. the rooms are basic, but they are very clean. the food that is offered is of good value also and the priceis good especially when you consider. This place could work well with families because of the value on the room and what it costs. The... More

We stayed 2 days quiet and worth price plus centrally located. Beds are old but again worth the money... Plus the resturant is amazing comfort family style food and super cheap fed my family of 4 breakfast for $20 and dinner for $40 beer included!!! Amazing service and very homey reminds me of my grandmas house;)

To call this hotel bare bones is an understatement. (My husband was surprised to see there wasn't even a TV) The place could use some updating: the bathroom was a little moldy, and our curtains were water stained. But the place was cheap and exactly what we needed for a quick overnight stay on our way to Volcano. Sadly, we... More

I stayed here with my wife and two friends. The hotel is not fancy, but it is very clean and the manager and other staff were great and very professional. The restaurant was also really nice with great food at good value.

My fiance stayed here for a few nights in early March. The rooms are pretty plain, but servicable. Our room had a water stain in the ceiling and could have used a new paint job. The price made up for it. Definately a step back in time. The pork chops and opelu dinner are tops in the restaurant, but make... More

The hotel defintely has seen better days. But its still good where it counts. The 3rd floor as a nice and affordable ocean view. Rooms are simple and clean. If you don't expect anything too fancy you should be happy there. Kitchen is popular amongst locals and visitors. It's famed for the pork chops, which where in deed quite good.... More
