We actually stayed at Ka'awa Loa Plantation over a year ago, and I'm presently typing on my laptop at a B&B in Washington D.C. to celebrate my 25th wedding anniversary. My husband and I are staying for nearly a week in Tripadvisor's #1 rated B&B in D.C., but my mind often drifts back to the days my husband and I... more

Overall, this place is great. We stayed for 3 nights in March. The view is amazing, the house is warm and comfortable. The hosts were very friendly and prepared great breakfasts. You can borrow beach towels, boogie boards, beach chairs, etc., which is really nice since few travelers bring all of this stuff with them when they go to Hawaii.... more

I stayed here for 4 nights in May and cannot recommend this B & B enough. Greg and Michael are wonderful! The breakfasts are delicious and the view from the lanai is breathtaking. They are great hosts, making me feel at home instantly, even when traveling alone. They helped me make the most of my experience in the big island.... more

We really enjoyed our stay at the plantation. My partner and I are not normally B&B people. Don't want to have to talk to others at breakfast. You don't have to join in as you can eat out on the veranda but the other guests were friendly. Michael and Greg are as warm and helpful as everyone else has described.... more

My husband and I spent five days here in May at the beginning of our trip to the Big Island. We awoke every morning to beautiful breakfasts prepared by our hosts, Greg and Michael. The guests staying there were delightful, and we received great instructions on places to eat and ideas for things to do from everyone at breakfast. The... more

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The guest house, property and views of Kealakeua Bay are beautiful. We awoke every morning to the peaceful sound of birds and enjoyed a delicious breakfast on the lanai. Don't miss the outdoor lava rock shower. The best snorkeling on the island is in the bay below Ka'awa Loa. Rent kayaks at the wharf and... more

This is by far my favorite B&B I have ever stayed at. First off, the house and property are gorgeous. The views are breathtaking - pictures don't do them justice. It's calm, quiet, comfortable. Greg and Michael are such great hosts - they are warm and friendly and make you feel so relaxed at at home (you know how some... more

This was the place of our holidays/honeymoon. We stayed there for 5 days, the first 3 in the cottage and the last 2 in the main house. The views are bird's eye, through a magnificent shore, the accommodation clean, cosy, quiet and romantic. But what made the difference was the service. Michael and Greg are warm and professional hosts, that... more

We spent a week of our honeymoon at the Ka'awa Loa Plantation in the cottage. The cottage is beautifully decorated and had a kitchen which was great. We even had our own private garden with banana trees and a lovely terrace which we had our supper on a few times. The main house is gorgeous and we were made to... more
