Hello We stayed at Cedar House during our Honeymoon. We were looking forward to some relaxation and this fitted the bill. The house its self is situated on a small coffee plantation which give a cool different type of outlook to the Hawaii you see in brochures in the UK. The house is also 2000 feet or so (maybe wrong... more
After staying ten nights at resorts on Oahu and Maui, six nights at Cedar House was a welcome change. Laura and Fred were great hosts, the accommodations were excellent, and Laura presents innovative and yummy breakfasts. Most importantly to us, it was peaceful and quiet. There's plenty to do in the area-snorkeling, shopping, golf, kayaking, "swimming" with the manta rays(an... more
My husband and I stayed in the Ulu room for 5 nights in December of 2007 and it was very pleasant. The rural, coffee farm setting of the Cedar House is beautiful and quiet. To get there you will drive on a 1-lane road that is very typical for rural Hawaii. Just remember that downhill drivers must yield to uphill... more
We stayed in the Pikake Rose for one night (it should have been two but our flight was cancelled). We didn't arrive until well after 9pm, but Fred came out to greet us and show us our room. Our luggage was delivered at 11:15 pm and Fred had no problem with us locking up after the luggage arrived. We are... more
We very much enjoyed our stay here. In reading previous reviews I want to agree with what they said. Breakfasts were excellent as was the coffee. The hosts have lots of information about things to do, and based on their advice we took up their recommendation for an outfitter to rent a kayak to cross Kealakekua Bay to the Captain... more
We have stayed at Cedar House for the past three years. We are partial to the Cottage. It's a wonderful location...surrounded by coffee trees and flowers, wonderful hosts, delicious breakfasts...a really beautiful place to vacation! We can't wait to go back! more
My wife and I spent four days at Cedar House and were delighted with it. The hosts are great: nice people and were very helpful to us, which is probably the most important part of staying at a B&B for us. It was fun to be in the middle of coffee country. The house is located about a mile off... more
My husband and I stayed at this B&B for five nights. Accommendation was okay and free snorkeling gear was available however I missed the friendly host experience from other B&Bs I know. When we arrived, we got a whole lecture of what we are allowed to do and what is off-limits. Breakfast was delicious (fruits, break and warm dish) but... more
Cedar House was stop number four on our two week holiday 21st Anniversary tour around the Hawaiian Islands. We chose Cedar House soley on the reviews posted on Trip advisor as due to some internet glich I was unable to access their website from Australia. We were not disappointed. Let me tell you though we had only ever been to... more
