We wanted a cosy place near Volcanoes NP and chose the B&B as it was low key and cheap. Lori was great and provided a lovely wholesome breakfast every morning. She was very sweet and even packed us a breakfast to take on our very early morning flight! Beautiful comfortable room, no TV - but to be honest you don't... more

Out of all the places my wife and I stayed on our honeymoon, this one stands out the most in our memory. Hilo was our favorite town, the Big Island was our favorite island, and this was our favorite inn out of the five places we stayed on 3 different islands in Hawaii. The hospitality was excellent, and the owner... more

We spent one night at the Old Hawaiian B&B, as part of our honeymoon trip to Hawaii. The location is great, walking distance from the Boiling Pots and very close to the Rainbow falls as well. The room was small but clean and cozy. The host was very nice and friendly, but unfortunately didn't give us too much input into... more

We recently stayed 2 nights at the Old Hawaiian B&B in Hilo and had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay! It was down the street from Boiling Pots and within a very short drive to Rainbow Falls so it was very conveniently located. Lory Stewart, was very helpful and gracious and prepared wonderful breafasts each morning which included yummy banana... more

We loved this place! We were here New Year's Eve 2007 and Jan. 1st and 2nd, 2008. We heard fireworks briefly but otherwise it was a very peaceful and quiet neighborhood. Our room was very clean, nicely decorated. The bathroom of the Bamboo Room where we stayed was small but it worked for us. Water was partially solar but there... more

We just returned home from 17 days in Hawaii, celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary. We stayed at B & B's the whole time on the trip because we wanted to get close and personal with the islands. The first 3 nights of the trip we stayed at the Old Hawaiian B & B. What a wonderful beginning to this awesome... more

The Old Hawaiian B& B is a charming setting on a 1/2 acre that backs up to the Waiuku River. You are greeted in the morning by the birds singing and the sight of beautiful vegetation. Lory and Stewart are very friendly and the delicious breakfast includes homemade breads and fresh fruit from the island. We were given helpful suggestions... more

My wife and I stayed one night in Sept and found the guests quite interesting at the breakfast gathering. Lory was attentive and accomodating. Got the impression that Stewart wasn't a big fan of the guest interactions. Lory seemed methodical, not excited. Our biggest complaint would be in the city/town of Hilo. We ventured downtown and were surprised at how... more

We loved the Hot breakfast with the homemade breads, local fruits, delicious smoothies, and excellent hawaiian coffee!!! I would highly recommend this B&B to anyone interested in... more

The Old Hawaiian B&B is in a really nice neighborhood in a splendid old house which has been recently renovated. The guest rooms are in the back of the house, quite separate from the family quarters. This is good for a variety of reasons, privacy on both parts not being an inconsiderable factor. Lory is a very attentive host, yet... more
