My husband and I live on the Big Island and have made Hale Kukui Orchard Retreat our special get away destination. Our favorite unit is the Cottage, where the views of, Waipio Valley and the N. We loved the view from the deck. We did not the like ants that seemed to find whatever food you had. The hot tub was disappointing as it was just a large bathtub with no jets. This place is old and run down. The views are excellent but the units are tired and old and need some serious updating. I would not stay here again. The worst place we stayed on the Big Island. We stayed at another home in Volcano (great and cheaper) and a hotel. more
