We are a family with 3 children, two adults and stayed here for 2 nights, at the beginning of our 2 week trip to the big island. This is a truly wonderful place. Beautiful location, wonderful staff, great breakfast -- in short idyllic. We travel frequently, and generally to fairly high-end hotels, and this was more than comparable. more
I am a freelance travel writer for the Las Cruces-Sun News and we just recently stayed at the Waianuhea Bed & Breakfast. What a fabulous retreat. Not touristy in the least. R & R at its best. The service, meals and overall surroundings were first rate. And it is a great departure location for either Hilo or Kona activities. A+... more
If you're looking for a private paradise, this is it. The Waianuhea B&B is an excellent choice for a get-away or in our case, a one-night respite. Great service, friendly staff, beautifully landscaped and decorated. It was comfortable and a perfect choice for us. If you follow their directions, no trouble finding the inn but it is a bit off... more
Although we've used TripAdvisor reviews extensively in our vacation planning for the past few years, we have never before posted! So for our very first post, we are reviewing this very special property on the Big Island. We booked Waianuhea on the strength of guide book reviews and everyone's TripAdvisor rave reviews--we felt we could not go wrong. We were... more
Absolutely the cleanest, friendliest and well appointed accommodations one could imagine. more

It is on the wrong (northeast) end of the island for a tourist who will probably make Volcano National Park his/her primary objective (we did not get there), but you... more
Our family stayed two nights at Waianuhea over the winter break. The property and the facility are lovely and immaculate. We had a clear view of the Mauna Kea summit in snow over the back garden in the morning. The staff were thoughtful and provided a nice personal atmosphere. There is a spa facility and hot tub on the premises.... more
This is probably the nicest B&B ever, and we have stayed in many. The single track road up through the foothills of Mauna Kea will convince you that you're surely lost, but heaven awaits. The location is beautiful and the rooms very comfortable and spacious, but it's the staff that make it very special. An excellent breakfast by a young... more
We stayed at the Waianuhea B&B in Jan 2009. The weather was mostly misty or rainy, but the B&B was spectacular. The location is close to hiking and places of interest. From the moment we walked into the B&B we were made to feel at home. Breakfasts are filling and innovative. Our room was like a spa with plush bedding... more
