We arranged to stay at Kalaekilohana in part because of their arrangements with other B&B's around the island. It was great having the whole week's stay scheduled with three B&B's, but we only had to get in touch with one. We loved our stay with Kenny and Kilohana. The rooms were immaculate, the shower was HUGE! Kenny's breakfasts were amazing,... more

What a wonderful relaxing 3 days to the beginning of our Hawaiian vacation. My husband and I were warmly greeted by Kenny and Kilohana upon arrival. Our B&B accommodations exceeded our expectations. Built by Kenny and Kilohana; each adding their own personalities to every room of the home. Each evening our hosts and guests gathered on the lanai for refreshments,... more

We could not have picked a better place to stay for our first trip to the Island of Hawaii. Kenny and Kilohana are gracious hosts and made us feel at home the minute we arrived. It was very important to them that we enjoyed our visit. They took the time to sit with us when we arrived to ask what... more

Kalaekilohana B&B on South Point Road was the ideal three-day getaway for me and my gal pals...the comfortable luxury and Hawaiiana that embodies this gorgeous 4-suite retreat was perfect for us, but most of all, the hospitality of innkeepers Kilohana and Kenny will never be forgotten. The sumptuous gourmet breakfast with Ka'u products, Ka'u coffee and its proximity to the... more

My wife and I have come to the Big Island 7 times in the past 2 years, generally for our separate businesses. We have stayed in Kona, Hilo and even one other place in the Ka'u region. Once we discovered this charming b&b we have stayed here as often (6 times in 2 years) as we possibly could (great cell... more

At this overpriced B&B, you'll probably enjoy the food, the amenities and the fact that you are just a short distance from South Point attractions. But, if you catch the proprietor in a particularly preachy mood, you may get a lecture on the advanced spiritual consciousness of native Hawaiians, and how they, being at risk of losing their land to... more

Kilohana and Kenny, the hosts, built this beautiful home in the Hawaiian countryside. All the furnishings were top notch. The bathroom, with cavernous shower, was a treat as well. Breakfasts were hearty, healthy, and wonderfully presented. Both hosts are attentive and a fount of information about Hawaii, its culture, and people. Easy access to local attractions added to the experience. more

My stay at Kalaekilohana was wonderful, even though I wrote "great" twice in my title. Kenny, a co-owner, made sumptuous breakfasts and took special care to make sure that everyone was given food that matched the person's preference. For example, Kenny made loco moko for me and me mudder and boco moko for my wife. It was gravy-tastic; my arteries... more

The house is beautiful and full of lots of traditional Hawaiian art and the room we stayed in for three nights was great - big, airy, and comfortable. I loved the quiet country location and the natural surroundings but still I can't recommend this B&B one hundred percent. The couple who own the property are nice but don't quite have... more
