This is a wonderful B&B in a beautiful part of the big island, especially if you're interested in see the flowing lava up close and personal. The black sand beach a five-minute walk away is also a fantastic place to unwind and meet new friends. The host is the best, showing us secret swimming holes and snorkeling spots we would... More

My partner and I stayed here for the Thanksgiving holiday. This was our first trip to the big island (we've been to Honolulu) and this is the best place to stay hands-down. Deider couldn't have been more helpful or gracious. He knows everything there is to know about the island, He lent us one of his guide books and snorkle... More

This B&B was the perfect place for our recent trip to The Big Island of Hawaii. We stayed there fro 4 nights and enjoyed the tranquil surroundings, the proximity to the Kilauea volcano site and other small towns and restaurants. Didier, the host, was very helpful in terms of making sure you go the most out of your time and... More

We felt completely at home staying with Didier in his B&B near Kehena Beach. The house and rooms were lovely and very clean. He was thoughtful, warm, and friendly - even took us to play volleyball at the neighbor's place (turned out to be once-a-year drag volleyball, quite a hoot). Would have preferred a king bed instead of a queen,... More

Our visit to the Big Island was one of our best vacations ever. This is greatly due to deciding to stay at Absolute Paradise rather than some of the more tourist-type resorts on the other side of the island. We spent hours exploring on our own and many wonderful local people. We could not have found some of the hidden... More

My partner and I stayed at AF B&B for a few days while in town for conference in Hilo. We had never stayed at a B&B before and was a bit apprehensive. But it turned out much better than we had anticipated. Didier, the owner was very nice, courteous and personable. We felt at home immediately as soon as we... More

I stayed at Absolute Paradise 6 nights and found it to be very relaxing (loved that hot tub and was in it watching the stars almost every night). Kehena clothing optional beach is a short walk away and unlike most c/o beaches the people here has real character, you will have to go to see what I mean. There is... More

We stayed at this affordable B & B and while the house was very clean and the room and bathroom were very nice, we felt that the location was a bit too remote for our tastes-the nearest restaurants were 30 minutes away, and besides the gay beach major sights to see were at least 60 minutes away. Driving back and... More

The nearest restaurant, the Kalapana Village Cafe, is 5 minutes away from the B&B. The nearest town, Pahoa, is 12 miles (about a 15 minute drive) away and there you will find several more restaurants. The black sand beach is only a 5 minute walk from the B&B. Mackensie State park, Lava Tree State park, Isaac Hale Park, Ahalanui Park... More

The east coast of the Big Island is a very untouristy area. Yes, there are certainly some visitors, but not in large numbers. Hilo has virtually no high rise buildings and Pahoa, the nearest town to B&B, is small town America, Hawaii style, with many of the locals being pretty colorful characters. The neighborhood where Absolute Paradise is located is... More

My friend and I spent two nights during our tour around The Big Island. We had a great experience here. The owner keeps the place clean and fresh, the common areas comfortable. The pool and soaking tub were great. The views from the house or nearby coastal road are superb. As other reviews sugggest this place is remote and there's... More
