My wife and I had a wonderful time at Hale Makamae B&B. I've been to the Big Island many times before,and this is the best lodging I've ever experienced on the eastern (Hilo) side of the Big Island. The hosts Petra and John are very welcoming, full of suggestions and serve a wonderful, healthy breakfast. Most of the fruits come from their own gardens, which are beautifully maintained.
