I'd found reviews of Country Goose Bed and Breakfast on Trip Advisor. We were looking for a place close to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and being lovers of big breakfasts, the descriptions of Joan Earley's feasts sounded like something we'd enjoy! I'd booked our two night stay several weeks earlier and told Joan that we'd be arriving between 5:00pm and... more

We stayed 3 nights in what I believe is the King Room - it was a largish room attached to the main house, with an ensuite and walk-in robe. The main room is about 6 m X 4 m. The room is welcoming and comfortable and with a lot of wet weather we made good use of the 2 leather... more

We stayed at the Hale Iki (small house) cottage, part of the Country Goose B&B in Volcano, HI for two nights. Hale Iki is a 20x20 cedar cottage with a loft bedroom. The downstairs walls are are about 50% glass sliding doors, giving an unparalleled view of the forest surrounding the cottage on all sides. A fully-equipped kitchen makes it... more

We rented the Hale Oma'o, a two bedroom rental, in Volcano and it was a lovely experience. Quiet country roads full of lush ferns and flowers. The house was pretty and had incredible views into the surrounding ohia forest - with lots and lots of Hawaiian song birds. We enjoyed hiking around Vocano NP during the day. FYI: Volcano is... more

We rented the Hale Iki cottage for 3 nights in February. Loved it! Volcano is out of the way from most restaurants and services, but staying there was a great move. We were close to the volcanos obviously, but there are also a great many parks and hiking trails nearby. The cottage we rented had two stories, a whirlpool, and... more

We visited Joan at the Country Goose in October 2008. We stayed in one of her rental properties - the Kalehua. This was a three bedroom house in a nice private neighborhood about 5 miles from the Country Goose Bed and Breakfast. The house was very nice, clean, and well maintained. The backyard was nice and private. There was a... more

Our family of three (including a 12-year-old) loved everything about Hale Anuhea, a cottage managed by Joan Earley of the Country Goose Bed and Breakfast. Surroundings: The cottage, located on a quiet fern-lined street, feels very secluded and private. Yet it’s just across the street and kitty-corner to the Country Goose, where Joan serves delicious and plentiful breakfasts. The “first... more

We first visited the Country Goose 8 years ago on our adventure to explore the Big Island by bike (the 300 mile perimeter) and by foot (the Mauna Loa trail). Joan, the innkeeper, couldn't have been more accommodating. She offered valuable advice and stored our bikes when we hiked, and our backpacks when we biked. We literally couldn't have completed... more
