Our stay at the Volcano Village Lodge couldn't have been better. The Lodge is nestled in the rain forest and it feels like you're the only ones there. The location couldn't be better for visits to Volcano National Park. After hiking all day, the hot tub was a welcome treat. Our cabin had a small outside sitting area that was... more

I found this amazing lodge on the internet, saw the great reviews here and immediately booked a room. I visit Hilo twice a year for my personal retreats and decided I wanted a change. As a Feng Shui consultant and energy practitioner, I am very sensitive to the environment and the energy of a space. Volcano Village felt warm and... more

We are grateful that we took the word of those on Trip Advisor who recommended this delightful property! It truly met our expectations, and then some. We arrived at 8PM, but the property was well-lit, and we were able to find our way to Mauna Kea, our delightful "cabin" with all the amenities. Truly, every time we wondered whether we... more

We stayed at the Hale Kilauea cabin in Volcano Village Lodge in mid-February and everything you read here is accurate. Our cabin was small but had every luxury we could think of including a Tempura bed. We planned to stay only 2 nights but now wish we had booked for 4 nights and used this as our base for the... more

When I originally booked this place, the accommodations I wanted were only available for 2 nights when we had planned to stay 3. I e-mailed the owner and she offered another room for the third night at the same rate. We stayed the first 2 nights at the Mauna Kea. We loved the privacy of the location. The octagon shape... more

My husband and I stayed here for three nights while visiting the volcano side of the island in Haleakala. We had amazing breakfasts in our fridge every night, quietly slipped in there while we were away during the day. The main building has movies and music to borrow, as well as books, which we took advantage of in the evenings.... more

This was our 2nd stay here and it was wonderful. Our first visit we stayed in Haleakala (previous review 2007, I think). This visit we reserved Hale Kilauea. On arrival we were greeted by Innkeeper Kuulei, her adorable son Damien and resident cat Gino. Kuulei showed us to Mauna Loa. I quickly said, "Oh no..we are booked for Kilauea". Imagine... more

Volcano Village Lodge is the most fantastic location in amongst a peaceful beautiful rain-forest. We explored the nearby volcanoes with Native Hawaiian Guide Warren Costa and had an amazing experience and holiday. I cannot speak highly enough of the Lodge. Forget high glitz and glam holidays and go for the peaceful retreat and sanctuary of beautiful Volcano Village Lodge. Breakfast... more

We recently had the opportunity to stay overnight in a fabulous lodge right outside Volcano National Park in Volcano, Hawaii. The lodge (name doesn't do it justice!) is a group of beautiful little bungalows tucked into a tropical paradise setting. Every detail has been thoughtful addressed.. beautifully designed buildings, pretty linens, flashlights for walking to see the lava flow at... more

My husband and I live on Maui and wanted to get away for my 50th birthday. We've stayed in many locations on the various Hawaiian islands and have now found our perfect getaway. Proprietress Kay Lee provided ample breakfast, fresh fruit and snack choices. Also, thank you for helping Roger surprise me at dinner. We stayed in the Hale Kilauea... more
