My boyfriend and I stayed here for a night on our most recent visit to Kauai and have nothing but great things to say about it! A few of our favorite features were the outdoor shower and jacuzzi, beautifully painted elevator, delish breakfast and friendly hosts. This is the perfect place to stay if you are spitting your trip between... more

We arrived on the North Shore of Kauai with very few expectations and were blown away by the accommodations at Hale Ho'o Maha. The rooms were immaculately clean and tastefully decorated with large bathrooms and nice showers. Our room, the Papaya Suite, had a private deck and was large by our standards (how much room do you really need?) The... more

Toby & Kirby were very charming. If you like a dry sense of humor you will love Toby; we did. The B&B is not on the ocean but is only a 3 minute walk. We stayed in the papaya room and had a scenic view with the mountain in the background. Toby & Kibry are very knowledgeable of the area.... more

The inn keepers Kirby and Toby were great hosts! The home is a short walk from the shore and provides great views of the mountains. The rooms are beautiful. We stayed in the Pineapple and Papaya rooms. They feature the cleanest amenities we experienced during our stay on three islands. Kirby was kind enough to help us arrange a car... more

We spent 3 wonderful nights in the Hale Ho'o Maha. It was our first B&B on Hawaii and turned out to be the best! I don't want to repeat what has been said many times, but: the house is really beautiful, the rooms are furnished with great taste and immaculately clean, everything is very very tasteful, attention is given to... more

This is NOT your normal B&B. First of all, the house itself and the location is magical. It is nestled in the trees, across from an incredible beach, and surrounded by the most magical mountains and waterfalls. The couple that run the B&B (Kirby and Toby) know how to do it right! First of all, the breakfast is fantastic...always plenty... more

We just spent 3 days at the Hale Ho'o Maha B&B in Hanalei. It is a beautiful, modern B&B built on 20' pillars to make it Tsunami-safe. The additonal elevation affords great views of the surrounding countryside and mountains. Guests have free-run of the very spacious and comfortable great room and kitchen. Kirby and Toby make you feel very much... more

Great location to Hanalei and all north shore beaches! Rooms and house are very clean and cute! Stayed in the Pineapple Suite which is their signature room, cute & spacious, but NO ocean view as advertised, not even a glimpse. Perhaps there was a glimpse a couple of years ago before the trees grew more, but not now. This room... more

Beautiful, immaculate building and room (stayed in Papaya Suite). Breakfasts were very good -- great fruit selections. Kirby was very helpful -- definitely appreciate her tip to use reef walkers rather than hiking boots on the Kalalau Trail! Wonderfully peaceful location -- just outside of Hanalei. more

loved it

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights at the beginning of our stay in Kauai and it was awesome. The B and B was built 2 years ago by one of the owners, Toby. It's beautifully constructed with a spacious, modern kitchen which guests can use anytime. The rooms are comfortable, the bathrooms are lovely, using stone and... more
