We selected Kalaheo Inn because we were traveling on a budget. That being said we understood that we not staying at the fanciest place. We stayed in the house at the rear of the property. At about 9 pm we could hear the loud noises from the nearby restaurant and someone was walking back and forth behind the house until... more

I've just returned from a 10 day stay on Kauai. My daughter and I stayed at the Kalaheo Inn for the first three days of our trip. If you are looking for a mega-resort with all the ammenities, Kalaheo Inn is not for you. But if you are looking for a clean, comfortable, convenient motel on the south shore that... more

We stayed at the Inn for two nights before joining the rest of our family at another resort. We arrived late and our room was left open with the key inside. We stayed in a two bedroom unit with a small kitchen. It was one of the only "budget" hotels I could find for our family of 5. The linens... more

We stayed here for one night as a base for exploring the Southern part of the island. After deciding that Poipu was too expensive, we looked at Kalaheo and decided to try here. Our room was a good size but the bed was very tall, about 80cm off the floor! Everything was clean and functional but I wouldn't stay here... more

This was a hotel recommended by budget travel, place is clean, though rooms smaller than appears on website, issues: only clean towels/linens etc. on arrival, otherwise u wash. , weather always windy, lights always on outside which comes in through windows at night . The mattress sucks, either extremely soft (pillow top) which can really screw up your back or... more

On a side street in a 'local' neighborhood. It is situated directly behind the Kalaheo Steak House. Looked like it was originally an apartment complex converted into a motel/inn. Nothing fancy here, just a place to rest on your exploration of the southern coast or Waimea Canyon. NO MAID SERVICE. You will take out your own garbage, do your own... more

If you are looking for a convenient, clean, hospitable and inexpensive place to sleep between island excursions- this is a great choice - if you're looking for a full serve, elegant, relaxing, beach side destination resort - obviously it is not the place. Refrig, stove, laundry on site, loaner chairs, scuba & beach towels - Cable TV - but No... more

The way I see it, there are Motel 6 and Comfort Inn types of establishments when it comes to lower cost bunking quarters. The basic difference is the price and where within town the businesses are located. We all expect proper maintenance and cleaning, the problem is not everyone has the same concept of clean and orderly. The Kalaheo Inn... more

Came across this place by accident, but what a pleasant surprise! we stayed here two nights, perfect for a little getaway from all the resorts/etc. central to the southern kauai things (kauai coffee co, surfing in poipu) and great pizza at the brick pizza restaurant! sparkling clean, with a great owner/manager, and a great room in office to borrow snorkels/... more
