The Kauai beach house is a large character house, right on the Kapa'a walk /bike path and bus lines. There are a couple of awnings and tents out front that provide an outdoor setting if it isreally raining, if it isn't raining then I'd recommend getting out during the days and exploring the island. The people are great and if you dont mind living in grose conditions its a great place. The main problem is the owner. He is a verbaly abusive alcholic. He has not problem throwing people out day or night with out provocation. more

This place seemed alright at first for a backpacker, but the next morning I regretted it. Had mosquito bites and lice! Of course this could happen at any hostel on Hawaii. So if you stay here or any hostel on the islands be sure to have some lice shampoo and mosquito repellent on hand. more
