Totally rebuilt, this hotel is tastefully refurnished. The place in poipu is a good alternative in south Kauai. Certainly to visit this part of island, normally more sunny. The hotel is not too large ( not really the boutique hotel but not to far when you see the big one s in hawaai. The room are nice too, confortable. The... More

I agree with some reviewers that say this property is a very nice place but should charge less, the prices they charge are for 5 star hotel and this hotel is still behind those, the property is in very good condition but the rooms are very small and the bathroom is also small and quite uncomfortable, they only give you... I reluctantly booked the koa kea for our honeymoon because most resorts are super crowded and make you feel like a tourist. After reading the reviews for the koa kea and some arm twisting from my wife I decided to try it and I'm very glad I did. From the moment we pulled our rented jeep up to the front... More

No children on this trip, so we wanted a quiet, oceanfront hotel. This fits the bill perfectly. All the kids were next door at the Marriott, and we were so thankful we weren't sharing our vacation with them ;) Beautiful grounds and hotel has been remodeled after last hurricane. Very Hawaiian modern. We had an oceanfront room-excellent choice at this... More

We stayed here for 7 nights during May as part of Honeymoon. I had done a ton of planning and research and am so pleased I did! I used Hawaii-aloha.com to book everything, they are base in Hawaii and did an excellent job, also save me some £ £ £ ..... This was my sixth visit to the islands but... More

The Koa Kea was amazing. First, the location right on Poipu Beach is hard to beat. It's first class, yet not stuffy. It's very quaint and comfortable unlike the big chains with tons of commotion. The included breakfast package is well worth it and Red Salt is quite good too. The service is the biggest thing. All anyone at this... More

Stayed at 4 resorts on Kauai - will compare Koa Kea with St. Regis here... Pros for Koa Kea: 1. More relaxed and casual atmosphere - no worries running around in a swim suit 2. Sunny side of the island - better weather is more predictable 3. Red Salt - breakfast package is divine (try everything on the menu -... More

I simply have to respond to the few people who post negative reviews of this property due to its not being a huge, overdone, glitzy resort. First, each person's definition of 5-star is different so I understand if you consider that type of place the ultimate in luxury and comfort and alone worthy of a 5-star rating. However, it is... Just spent 8 nights at Koa Kea. I have been reading the reviews on Tripadvisor for a couple of years now and must say that it is thanks to those reviewers that we stayed at Koa Kea. It is a small very clean well maintained hotel, no bugs just the odd chicken. The pool is very quiet water is warm,you... More

First class resort and staff is excellent. Ocean View Room great to recharge in the afternoon on the porch with the constant breeze. The one night of rain was fine sitting in the covered porch. Adult pool is a fun and relaxing. Look for small spots along the lazy river. Waterfalls along the river have cove hid always.
