This is the second time my husband and I stayed at Hana Maui Botanical Gardens. It is quaint and out of the way which is what we wanted. No phones, TV, radio, you need to go to the town center for reception on cellphones. No one bothers you and JoLoyce and Adam who works for her have interesting stories of... more

We had a great time and used this inexpensive place to rest our tired eyes by night while by day we explored the town and surrounding area. This is not a resort hotel, this is a duplex across the yard from the owner's house. The resorts in Hana will cost you 5 times more. The owner is a caring woman... more

We called while in Hana when our other lodging was suddenly no longer available. Owner is a lovely older woman, but sometimes she has health issues and the quality of her helpers or staff can be spotty. We got lucky that she had availability. The gardens are small but lovely. The 2 lodges are like a duplex with covered carport... more

We wanted several days to explore the Hana area while staying on the south side of Maui. After reading several reviews of this B&B, we decided to take a chance. It is very rural with a generator in the main house to supplement the solar power. Charging batteries for cameras and computer was not recommended. Understanding these limitations is necessary... more

My partner and I stayed 3 nights at the Hana Maui Botanical Gardens B&B for our Honeymoon. Overall, we were happy with the accomondations. The accomondations were clean and simple and the kitchen was great for cooking. One thing to be prepared for: in order to conserve energy, you are not allowed to plug anything in- including a cell phone,... more

First off I would like to say that Joloyces accomodations were clean, tidy and quaint. It was great to have a kitchen to cook dinner in since food in Hana is exorbitant - (dont do what we did and buy groceries in Hana - prices are shocking.) ( restaurants are over priced and poor quality and the only good place... more

My husband and I just spent two weeks at the Hana Maui Botanical Gardens B&B. Our stay there was a complete delight. The owner, JoLoyce has (with help) turned this property into the Garden of Eden. We picked fresh starfruit, coconuts, bananas, mangoes, papayas, breadfruit, and avocados. We walked through the entire garden three times during our stay, and each... more

Hana Maui Boatanical Gardens at Kaia Ranch is a very beautiful place. JoLoyce and her late husband purchased 27 acres 30 years ago and built a beautiful Hawaiian botanical garden that is open 24/7 for guests (very close down the road is also the famous National Hawaiian Kahanu Gardens). You can wander the gardens, pick fruit and enjoy the beauty... more

I have stayed at this B&B several times....Its in a beautiful, peaceful, relaxing environment and the owner, Joloyce, is friendly, hospitable and a joy to be around. This is *not* your typical vacation destination. It is secluded from the already nearly uninhabitated Hana and offers a natural setting where you can hear the crickets, birds, and be among nature. Along... more

We found this place on lanierbb and booked two rooms at this place two months in advance, and PREPAID. Four of us planned a leisurely drive to Hana intending to stay overnight and drive back the other way the next day. Thank god we got there early. When we arrived at the vacation rental it was deserted. After walking around... more

Management response from
JoLoyce Kaia, owner

I am JoLoyce, the owner of Hana Maui Botanical Gardens. In response to the Fisher's experience. I had just gotten out of the hospital and had to depend on others to help me. This is not always the best situation. So there was a mixup in their reservation. I don't deal in cash and had never written a check to...
