If you are looking for a fancy resort with all of the amenities, then this is not your place. However looking for a unique getaway, this is it... short walk to black-sand beach, beautiful grounds, listen to the waves breaking on the shoreline, easy access to local sites... We stayed in the treehouse, oven needed a bit of work but... more

I thought the place was over priced for what you get. The sheets smelled funny, and the pillow cases smelled as though they hadn't been washed between guests. The bathtub had mildew in it. Overall I would not recommend this place. more

My husband and I stayed 1 night (booked less than 1 wk in advance, as per their website rules). We unfortunately had a heck of a time getting to Hana due to 4hr daily road closures, but it was really worth it once we finally arrived at the Bamboo Inn. I had the single most amazing jacuzzi bath out on... more

We traveled to Maui on our "babymoon", with our then 3-month old daughter. A new baby is the reason it has taken so long to write this review! We hit the road to Hana without making any reservations for the night! Big mistake on our part, but it turned out for the best. Bamboo Inn was the only B&B with... more

This place was SO DIRTY, SO FOUL, SO NASTY we left in the middle of the night because we just couldn't stay. Issues: 1. Filthy room and trust me - I am NOT exaggerating 2. Several dozen lizards (that we could see) were roaming all over the 'bungalow' 3. No air conditioning - imagine how hot, sticky and stifling it... more

This is belated, but I've been meaning to post my review of this place. My wife and I stayed at the Bamboo Inn for two nights in March 2009. It was a wonderful stay. I thought the price was very reasonable and we had a beach view, we could walk out from our room to the beach.....I'd definitely stay here... more

We were 3 retirees who chose staying at the bamboo in Hana without being told their accomadations were not appropriate for 3 people. The owner put us in a suite with the only bathroom upstairs through the bedroom (no privacy). There was an old 3 cushion sofa, not a pull out bed which the owner told us was the bed... more

We spent 4 nights in the Pond View Bungalow at the Hana Hale Inn and got exactly what we expected - comfortable, adequate lodging with incredible natural surroundings. The first two days we didn't see anyone else on the property - not even the owners. We had no problems with bugs or geckos inside our unit. The kitchen was utilitarian,... more

We had a relaxing time visiting Hana. The drive is the best part. Spent a day visiting the museum, driving farther on to see Charles Lindbergs headstone. The drive there is superb. Waterfall and National Park is on the way. Walked around the village. Watched the locals surfboarding, ect. Not too many places to eat, but we did our own... more

Hmmmm. Both high and low points. I stayed in the the Treehouse for two nights. It is a true tropical experience. There is no air conditioning, but they do provide fans, and it is plenty comfortable late at night and early morning. The treehouse is on two floors, with only the entry and bathroom on the bottom floor. The kitchen/living... more
