The previous reviewer was fortunate to have cancelled. We booked a 10 night stay in the cottage for Aug 2009. I always use trip advisor but for some reason did not spot the review for this cottage. On arrival we were very disappointed at the poor level of cleanliness. It appears that this couple have bought a nice B&B/cottage business... more

Was supposed to stay Nov. 22, 2009 to Nov. 28, 2009. Booked this B&B based on their website - they seem like such lovely people - but that 'loveliness' ended with the website. My husband called to inquire about the terms and conditions of their B&B and was treated very rudely. Basically whoever answered the phone (a woman) told him... more

Clean and comfortable room ,nice balcony, good location and free use of washing machine was a plus. Negatives - private bathroom was not ensuite as expected, but off corridor. Very poor breakfast left on a tray outside bedroom night before - small piece of fruit, muffin and a dreadful sugary fizzy drink. Owners not in evidence, could have stayed without... more

Kai's looks like it may have been nice at one point. Located in a noise residential neighborhood, near by chickens, nieghbors and road noise negated the tropical backyard setting. We stayed in the cottage which is in dire need of maintenance. The most troubling part of the cottage, however, was the bug infestation. They were everywhere with the only provided... more

The bedroom & bathroom were extremly fiflthy and unbearably hot. The windows could not be opened and the AC was on a one hour timer. more

We stayed here several years ago in the garden cottage, out back. This is a great price for what you get. You can feel like a local. Shop for your own food, make your own meals, do laundry, pick fruit on property, hot tub if you feel like it. The cottage was newer and clean. There were beach mats snorkel... more

My husband and I stayed in the Mango room for 3 nights. The accommodations were affordable, clean and provided the basics. The atmosphere however, was very unwelcoming. Our entire stay, we felt like we were not supposed to be there. We arrived 1.5 hrs before our scheduled check-in and were "greeted" in a rather unfriendly way that let us know... more

Our trip to Maui was for our wedding. We looked at several options from resorts to B&Bs. The final decision was for us to spend our money on activities instead of amenities that we wouldn't use. The rooms are just as they appear on the website and we found the owners (whom also live at the B&B) to be very... more

We just got back from our Hawaii vacation and during our stay in Maui we stayed at Kai's in Kihei. Yes, there were dogs somewhere in the neighbourhood, but we only heard them during the days and never at night and it never really bothered us. The place is clean and the hosts were friendly. We stayed in the mango... more

We stayed in the Papaya Studio for three days during April 2008. We chose Kai's as most of the accommodation on Maui appeared to be well out of our price range (It's cheaper to stay in Kona or Waikiki) as we were trying to stick to a budget of $100 per night. The rooms in the main house are priced... more
