Having stayed at the Banyan Tree twice in the past, we almost made the mistake of choosing a hotel for our third visit. What a mistake that would have been! If you like giant, you-could-be-anywhere properties, this is not for you. Banyan Tree is in our opinion a real, olde Hawaii style place to hang your hat for a couple... More

After reading nearly every review on TripAdvisor I was sold. I was adding on to my vacation and wanted to experience the contrast between the high end toursit resorts and a more local establishment. The Banyon Tree has a beautiful setting, the lush garden and trees allows you to slow down from the normal "rush - rush" tourist pace. The... More

I stayed here recently on a short getaway trip to Maui. I couldn't have found the more perfect place. The location is secluded and very quiet - and not terribly far from anywhere on the island - Hana, West Maui, Kihei/Wailea - all very accessible - and away from the tourist crowd. Marty is a great host and respects your... More

This was our first trip to Maui. Out of the 6 places we stayed over a 3 week period, this was our favorite! The place was very comfortable, relaxing and clean! The well kept grounds were beautiful and Marty the owner was so helpful and such a great guy! The view was great. Had a pool and hotub. Within walking... More

We decided to ease into our first visit to Maui by starting "Up Country" at the Banyan - a small complex of cottages in a lovely setting that used to be plantation managers' housing. It was very peaceful and relaxing, a nice small pool and hot tub, beautiful trees and plantings. We stayed in Sue's Cottage which was fine for... More

This is the second time we've booked in the Banyan B and B in Maui. We had thought we'd be staying with our son in Makawao but work was still ongoing in his Ohana. Marty, owner of the Banyan, didn't let us down though! The grounds here are beautifully kept and the rooms, although basic, are clean, the beds very... More

Actually stayed here in March 2011, but took a while to get around to reviewing. Had a wonderful visit at Banyan Tree B&B. Beautiful property, great pool. Rooms all in different cottages and all seemed to be different, but each well situated and comfortable. Not super luxurious but clean, well-appointed, and pleasing in a simple way and very quiet at... More

I stayed a few nights in June at the Banyan Tree House! What wonderful people and what a relaxing, beautiful spot. I had my own cottage and Mouna and Marty were excellent hosts!

I stayed at Banyan Tree May 8-13 so that I could attend my grandson's 5th grade Waldorf School Olympiad. Only 15 minutes from the airport, it's out in the country yet convenient to beaches, restaurants and various sites. You get a sense of its historical sugar plantation days. Grandson and I shared Sue's Cottage, and his parents stayed in the... More

Rooms were recently renovated, clean and extremeley comfortable. Landscaping and common pool area is well maintained by Marty and Banyan Tree Staff. I appreciate that it is a retreat away from all the busy tourist areas, but a close 20 minute drive to the beaches near the big hotels. The huge kitchen is a joy to entertain large groups, and...
