I stayed at the Banana Bungalow earlier this month. I had a great time, met so many new friends, and even extended my trip as much as I could. There is a pool table, big TV, free computers and wireless, and a hot tub. The kitchen is large and kept clean...free coffee every morning. There is also free beer on... more

I came to Maui for the first time 4 years ago and had the time of my life life at the Banana Bungalow! It was so much fun I was afraid to come back fearing the second time around couldnt compare to the amazing experience I had already had on the island and the people I met staying there. I... more

Banana Bungalow Maui is a fun, relaxing place to spend time while on the island. The atmosphere is friendly, from guests and staff alike. The common facilities (TV area, pool table, kitchen) are big, open spaces. But in my opinion, the outdoor gardens are the single best feature of this hostel. From hanging out in the morning and talking story... more

I had the opportunity to stay in two hostels on Maui and I found this one to be pretty unappealing as a place to be, but the 'free' tours that run each day are perfect for travellers with no rental car. I stayed only in a mens dorm. Room - Very cramped. This hostel has many long-term guests and 6-bed... more

I am literally covered head to foot in bed bugs. This is one of the worst experiences i've ever had in my life! And for all you who are staying there, those are bed bug bites! Not mosquito bites! Jesus Christ Help ME! more

Where do I start .... panicked at the thought of limited hostels on Maui, when I found out there was a room here I jumped at the chance of staying. Its location in Wailuku doesnt offer much and so you really need a car in order to see the island. However, one plus point for Banana is that they run... more

This was a horrible experience. Very dirty, noisy, bathroom with molds. I would say there is very strange group of people living in this hotel is , their way of living was bothering us. This is not a good place if you do not like party all night, wild sex everywhere and smoking grass. When we came there and saw... more

My God, this hostels needs some good cleaning with infectants. The bathroom is hideous. Not to mention I got an infection in 2 days in this hostel!! The rooms aren't that clean either. If you are someone used to nice/clean environments, then pass on this place. It's also in the middle of nowhere. For a bit more money, you can... more
