We just returned from a week at the Hotel Moloka'i and have to agree with a previous reviewer that the hotel is marginal at best. At this writing there is no other hotel open on Moloka'i. The Moloka'i Ranch has closed and the only other alternatives are condos and maybe a B&B or two. Consequently, the hotel seems to be... more

Our best friends got married on Molokai on July 11, 2008, and we came to share the event with them. We booked two nights at the Hotel Molokai, as the spectacular Molokai Ranch resort closed earlier in the year. I must admit there was a certain charm to the architecture of the Hotel Molokai. In fact, it reminded me of... more

Molokai is what Hawaii used to be - peaceful, slow paced and laid back. That also describes Hotel Molokai. This is an older, nicely kept hotel. If you are looking for an air conditioned resort with white sand beaches, you'll have to look elsewhere. We stayed in one of the garden rooms, which is one of the less expensive rooms,... more

My husband and I arrived late due to a late ferry from Maui and getting our rental car. At first I was worried when I noticed the closed front desk, but I walked back to the bar where Hans (night manager) greeted me and checked us in. After we settled into our rooms, although late (10pm bar closed 10:30) my... more

We stayed at Hotel Moloka'i only one night in June 2008. There are not too many other choices on the island for a one-night stay. We needed 2 rooms and they were booked up with a large teenage church group that were taking all the large rooms. I called the property directly and made it clear that we needed one... more

We booked our stay at this hotel, as there are not many choices on Molokai. Our kids had a blast in the pool, which was clean and the water was warm. The restaurant was kid-friendly, laid-back, decent food and good entertainment. Also, nice to dine on the water. Small beach, not great for swimming, but fine for a short walk.... more

Recently stayed at this place for the Memorial weekend. Had never been to Molokai and found this place online. We got the local rate of $122 per night. I can't believe they'd charge too much more than that. First off, the place is more like a cottage or cabin than a hotel room and since there are four units per... more

I am glad we stayed here first and then went to a big resort on Maui for a few days. Because if we had gone in reverse, we probably would have been disappointed here. Molokai is great for anyone looking for a very authentic old time Hawaiian experience, not for those looking for the big fancy resorts that hold your... more

My husband and I arrived in Molokai and quickly rented a car. After driving around the east side of the island most of the day we decided to spend our first night at Hotel Molokai. It seems no matter where you go on the island you will find roosters. They grew on me. I like the rooster much more now.... more

Loved this hotel!! I'm 24 years old and went with 2 of my best friends to Moloka'i for spring break. We were tired of the Miami Beach/LA spring break scene and were looking for a way to relax, have fun and experience Hawaii the way it's supposed to be. The rooms were really nice - we made a reservation for... more
