My friend and I stayed 6 nights at the Dunbar Cottages Pauwalu cottage and found it perfect for us. THe view day and night is wonderful. THe beach superb! Even used the outside washer and dryer. It was a splendid experience. Will return for sure with my husband - God willing many many times! The island of Molokai - awesome!... more

We just returned from a ten day stay at the Pauwalu cottage and will definitely be returning there for our next Hawaii visit. This cottage is great for kids. The beach has very easy (and safe) access and the fish pond enclosure turns the ocean front into a wading pool that is perfect for children (I understand the other Dunbar... more

We wanted to get away from the tourists and experience the real Hawaii. This met all our expectations! The privacy was fabulous and the secluded beach was beyond description. We stayed for 10 days. We did have a few visiting bugs (famous Hawaiian flying cock roaches) but there were not many and easily manageable. We saw geckos on the windows... more

We recently stayed as a large group at both of these cottages. They sit in a truly beautiful and removed part of Hawaii. If you are looking for a place to unwind, be with family, sit on the beach, swim and simply get away, this is the place. Each cottage is beautifully taken care of, well furnished and very comfortable.... more

We stayed at the Dunbar Beach Cottage (Pu'unana Cottage) on March 6-10, 2007 and absolutely loved it ! The view from the lanai was outstanding, especially at night! The cottage is very clean, well maintained, has beautiful hardwood floors, a well equipped kitchen, although we did suggest an upgrade to the BBQ. A great place to get away from it... more

I always prefer to search out a remote and less touristed locale for my vacations. I hate being jammed in by other people. I visited Molokai for the first time for about 4 nights and booked Dunbars after researching various websites and guidebooks. I traveled there with my elderly parents and my partner. The ferry ride started out perfect with... more

It gave me what most travellers want, a feeling that I had discovered a special treasure. Make no mistakes, this is NOT fancy. We drove out there in the dark and collapsed in bed when we arrived. We awoke to a view like nothing I had ever seen. A completely unobstructed view of the sea maybe 20 feet from our... more

Stayed at the Pu'uanana Cottage with the Dunbar's. We reviewed tripadvisor, frommers, and other internet sights. Frommer's gave it 2 stars! We are rather easy to please people and found the cottage to be disappointing. First, let me say that we loved Molokai and definitely will return. We heard the Molokai Lodge is the place to stay and will go... more

The Dunbar beachfront cottages are two homes on the East side of Moloka'i. We stayed in one of them (the Pu'unana house) for one week in December '05 and absolutely loved it. This is the perfect place for a couple or a couple with kids to get away from it all. The Pu'unana house has two bedrooms (one room has... more
