I booked our room through Hawaii's Best Bed & Breakfast, and I will be writing a detailed letter to them outlining our experience and disappointment. I would give this place 2.5 stars (out of 5). We stayed in the downstairs unit (there are two units). I will begin by saying that the upstairs unit seemed much better than ours and I probably wouldn't be writing this if we stayed in that room. Our biggest complaint was the lack of privacy - the owner's three young grandchildren were visiting the first night and they had taken over the outdoor TV lounge. They were watching a movie and we heard every sound of it in our room, which was directly next to that area. There was a slot machine that rested right against our bedroom wall - the sounds from that were quite annoying. One of the grandchildren actually lives with the owners - he was allowed to toddle around aimlessly in his diaper (he's about 2 years old), often unattended even by the pool area.
