Booked 4 nights in a studio unit with pool view through Marriott.com. Even though it was considered ocean view, the ocean view was blocked by the coconut trees and we could only glimpse the ocean through the leaves.. This was our first trip to Hawaii and while the location of the Marriott was further from Honolulu, we didn't find it difficult to get to and from Ko Olina. Hotel was very nice and away from the hustle-bustle of Honolulu. Grounds are very nicely landscaped and staff is very accommodating. Do rent a car so that you can drive the island. Must see the North shore (surfers) and stop at one of the shrimp trucks (Giovanni's-North shore). Ted's bakery is good also. Do go to Pearl Harbor and climb... more

Lots of different pools to choose from, waterfalls to play in, a waterslide (closed, unfortunately, many of the days we were there), lagoons with great beaches and snorkeling, away from the hustle of Waikiki. When you pull up and the valet already knows what building your room will be in I knew this was going to be a cut above. I was not disappointed in any way. Rooms were great. Ko Olina is a beautiful property. The grounds are immaculate, the pools, beaches and lagoons sparkling. The rooms were well appointed and we really appreciated the full kitchen, washer and drier. There's a Target, KMart and Costco close by as well as some smaller stores and restaurants at the next exit, in case you need anything. The staff was unobtrusive... more
