as other reviewers have said this is probably the cleanest hotel in American Samoa. It is very average in all respects. seems to have all the business travelers especially US government contracts. If there was a decent competitor I think business would go elsewhere.
Avoid the Equator restaurant if you can. The Kitchen depends heavily on a can opener, despite...

We spent one night, and loved it. As residents of American Samoa, we were quite taken with the Tradewinds Hotel. The weather as well as our islands remoteness makes for a more challenging environment than most hotels have to deal with. We were very, very pleased, and as I told the front desk clerk, as she said I didn't have...

Did not have a reservation and got stuck with a $165.00 per night in what they called the "suite" which was nothing more than a room with a small couch.
The room was clean but smelled of mold.
Nothing to write home about.

Enjoyed the staff. Restraunts need better food. Need a stool for old passengers to climb in safely into shuttle van. Hope mom's feet is okay. Girls up front at desk are very caring.

They are very nice but need training on customer and hotel service. Rooms are sufficient but sometimes they forget to replace your towels. didn't tell us about the pending tsunami or where to go if it hit; fitness room had old equipment, two treadmils, two eliptical machines, one was broke. didn't tell us about the ecoli outbreak in American Samoa...

Right from the start I want to stress that I am not a high maintenance traveler! But from whoa to go this place was a disaster!
Firstly we booked the hotel over the phone with a young gentleman at the front desk. He took all the details for the two rooms required and our credit card number and said the...

In response to the review "Useless"
This guest makes a serious allegation, that our staff fraudulently used his credit card. At the time I spoke to him on the last day of his stay he made no mention of this to me. We do not have his credit card details on file, nor would we ever keep them, if he...

When I first stepped into the room, I noted that there were no towels - none, again. I have stayed at this hotel many, many times, since it first opened. For every stay, I've had towel wars at this hotel. For reasons I don't understand, they cannot seem to manage to keep towels in their rooms.
After collecting towels for...

Contrary to its web site promises, the hotel is not opulent nor does it provide superior service. I stayed in two different rooms during my 2 week business trip to Pago Pago. Both times, my rooms were infested with small roaches. Since this was a business trip, I needed to have internet service but was unable to get online in...

I read in some travel publication (I think Lonely Planet) that this was American Samoa's high-end hotel--and in a sense this is true. Just suspend every expectation you have of what comes to mind when you hear the term "high-end" and open your mind to a separate reality. What would pass for "somewhat adequate" in Honolulu or Los Angeles is...
