Had a one night stay for a conference. Sorely disappointed when I checked into my room. Looks like a budget motel. View was awesome. Front desk staff (lady with great Southern accent) was as nice as could be. Breakfast at conference function was pretty good. Thanks for providing computer and printer near front desk. Suggestions: get new bed spreads...the ones... more

As written by others: shabby, worn, noisy plumbing, peeling vinyl wall covering, broken appliances, do-it-yourslf fixtures, thin walls, smells, and FANTASTIC views with truly NICE people at the front desk(!) Too far out of town to walk. No food or amenities (OK, an inedible $10 "breakfast buffet"). Neighbors kept staying one night and moving elsewhere... hint! I was stuck with... more

I went with my parents. My dad is quadriplegic, so we stayed in the accessible rooms. The rooms were charming and the view was awesome. I left items in my room, and they held onto them until I contacted them (three weeks later!), then mailed them to me. I had a 100% good experience here. more

We stayed in the standard king room. The decor was terribly outdated (such as old furniture, fluorescent lights), there was no desk and only one night stand in the room, and the bathroom was quite worn. The room was a step above a cheap motel. There was no curtain or shade on the door window so there was no way... more

I'm sorry to hear your disappointment. The current owners purchased this property a year ago and have made great strides in renovating the hotel and property. The rooms are in the process of renovation and will see changes. The property includes twelve acres of lush, beautiful lawns, gardens, and incredible views of Maine's scenic coast set this resort apart from...

This place is awful, you do not get what you pay for. It is overpriced and equivalent to a 1 star hotel but they think they can get $250/night. The hotel staff were less than helpful. It was clean but REALLY old...not worth it! I would suggest staying somewhere else... more

I joined friends for a special gathering and this location was excellent. Our group had all ages, from little ones to young grandparents. The rooms were clean, the staff was extremely helpful, the breakfast buffet was well worth the price, and the indoor pool was the best! I LOVED that the hotel uses fitted contour sheets on the beds! My... more

I had intended on spending a 3 night weekend in July 2009. I have been to Bar Harbor previously, stayed at their sister hotel "The Bar Harbor Inn". I booked the "Oceanside Spa Package" billed as an all inclusive couples package. It was to include the room for 3 nights, breakfast each day, 2 dinners, 2 spa treatments, a massage... more

We reserved and confirmed a King room for a business trip, and didnt' get it, even through the hotel is far from full this time of year. The staff was not interested in this oversight of theirs. Friends of ours who also came along on this trip got some kind of basement room. As mentioned by other reviewers, the continental... more

This room had everything we needed. It had a balcony looking out into the harbor and that is the best part of this room and location. You could see small boats, islands and the ferries going to Nova Scotia. We had 5 people in this room (including 2 teens) so we had a cot and there was plenty of room.... more

On a driving tour of New England, my wife and I spent two nights here in early September. The room was spacious, and very clean, the view from the window and balcony was fabulous. There is no Restaurant, but the choice in town is great. This is a fabulous destination, and we truly look forward to coming back more
