Stayed at the Hearthside for three nights. The room was charming, beds were comfortable and Susan and Barry were the perfect hosts. The B&B is meticulously maintained, breakfast was outstanding and there was always tea and coffee available with afternoon home made cookies. The B&B is situated perfectly for walks downtown and to Acadia National Park. I would highly recommend... More

My girlfriend and I went up to Bar Harbor for Memorial Day weekend. I've got to say she couldn't have picked a better place for us to stay. The B&B is very well maintained and centrally located to everything you need to enjoy your stay in Bar Harbor. Our room was large, bed was comfortable, we had a fireplace that... More

We stayed at the Heartside for 2nights and wished we could have stayed longer. Susan and Barry are a great couple and their inn is fantastic. The photo's dont do it justice. It's such a cosy, friendly place with beautiful rooms that are immaculately clean and really special. The breakfasts are delightful too. The inn is very well located, just... More

We just wanted to take this opportunity to thank these guests and all the previous guests who have stayed at Hearthside and posted such wonderful reviews about us on TripAdvisor. Although this will be our 27th year as innkeepers, it never gets old hearing that we are still doing a good job in helping our guests to enjoy this beautiful... More

A last minute call looking for a discounted rate for the same day did not obtain the low rate I was hoping to receive. However the warm reception from Susan won me over So I decided to take a chance. The house was very quiet even with full Occupancy. The bed was excellent for my aching back. Barry and Susan... More

Once again, we were very pleased with the accommodation, food and hospitality provided to us by Susan and Barry. They are easy people to deal with and made us feel at home. The interaction with the other guests was fun, too, and Bar Harbor was more tuned in for this time of year than I remember from several years ago. The... More

Our trip of five days to Acadia Park began with a delicious breakfast followed by a mid-day rest with coffee or tea and homemade cookies and ended with a comfy room in this comfortable house. Barry and Susan have thought of many ways to make their guests feel at home and welcome. Susan even asked me about special diet needs... More

My Sister and I stayed in the Romeo and Juliet Room which was fantastic. The food was just delicious and plentiful. It was nice to have an evening snack waiting for us when our day was finished. There were menus of Eateries some were close by for midday or evening meals. Susan loaned us a cassette tape for a tour... More

Centrally located, charmingly decorated. Delicious breakfasts and snacks. Barry and Susan were the penultimate hosts...always available but never "in your face." They were more than hosts. They were advisors, helpers, and friends. There were lots of little extras: umbrellas, walking tour guides, driving tour guides, and more. It says a lot that so many of their guests return year after... More

Stayed three nights in late June before summer rates applied. clean comfortable room and a good breakfast. Nothing elaborate but tasty and plentiful. Walkingdistance from town and most attractions. Just a short drive into the park. Though our room (Glass Managerie) had a seperate bathroom it was snot a big issue. the room was a good size with a unique... More
