I stayed here to visit Acadia NP before going to a conference in Boston. We came during the 2nd week-end in October. I wasn't expecting much for $80 a night, but I was almost giddy over how much I liked the place. The place certainly isn't perfect. I'll discuss the negatives first. I booked a partial view room, guessing that... more

After looking on previous reviews I was a little concerned that we had booked part of our honeymoon at the Bar Harbor Regency, Holiday Inn, Sunspree Resort, but nevertheless we booked it - as I was looking forward to seeing this part of the US. All I can say is yes the hotel rooms do need updating, but our room... more

This Hotel has beautiful grounds, and views. The rooms are large, but very, very tired. We were there at the end of the season, so I guess I'll ignore the peeling wallpaper in the bathroom. The room was not cleaned well during our stay of 2 days. It also seemed strange that there was a small refrigerator sitting on the... more

It's not right in downtown Bar Harbor- but that was the main downfall. It is about a mile to downtown. The hotel is on the water however, the pools/restaurant block the view. Hotel has 5 restaurants but all but one was closed. The one that was open was closing the next day for the season??? I thought Maine was known... more

How could Holiday Inn allow this jewel to be so badly kept? We loved the location, the view of the Atlantic Ocean, and the wonderful landscaping. However, our room smelled like mildewed carpet. We bought a can of Lysol to get us through our 2 night stay. The bathroom was pretty dirty too. The hallways needed to be vacuumed desperately... more

Hotel workers were friendly and provided great service, rooms were clean, pool was great! The hotel is a bit dated, so there are a few cosmetic eye sores, would be great if updated. Nice view and nicely priced! more

Prior reviews were lukewarm and I was a little leery but it was fine. I traveled with my wife and two young children (18 months and 5 years) and stayed for 5 nights. We stayed in the Frenchman's Bay building, which I gather was an old Fairfield Inn based on the license in the elevator. This building is directly adjacent... more

Nice hotel. Lobby and common areas were beautiful. Rooms had seen better days but were very adequate. Free wireless and nice terraces. Third floor rooms with no elevators made lugging bags upstairs tough. Nice hotel though. more

I was in Bar Harbor for one night and wanted an ocean view. This hotel provided it at the lowest price in the area. The view room was $35 more than the non-view in a hotel that was mostly empty. The desk clerk offered me a room in the main hotel or one in a separate buidling. I asked him... more

We just completed a 4 night stay at the Regency. It appears to be one of several properties owned by the same group that are along the waterfront. Although not as high end or as close to Main Street as its sister property the Harborside Inn (which we have also had very good luck with), the resort is extremely well... more
