The staff at Hotel Tomo were fantastic. We were able to check in early and check out late which made our stay so much better for just a quick overnight. We love the Japanese pop culture theme. It is so much fun. A slice of Japan in San Francisco. Really fun place to be. The staff seems genuinely happy to... more

The rooms are neat, clean and new but nothing beats the friendly and helpful staff. I had never been to San Francisco before and was there to help my son relocate to SF for grad school and ended up staying at Hotel Tomo for 11 nights! When I checked out both my son and I missed our home away from... more

We needed to be in that area to see a concert at the Fillmore-could walk to the venue...located in Japantown and the rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, internet in the rooms was free, the hotel was very quiet-we opted for a balcony room which had a nice view (8th floor)-couldn't really sit on the patio but you could... more

The iLuv didn't work when we got there, and they replaced it right away with one that worked. I noticed video game controllers, but I didn't play anything. It was clean, but there were no bell hops and the lobby was really small. They didn't have any parking available, so we had to park down the street for $30/day. They... more

Hotel Tomo is a very unique hotel. The Japanese pop art decor was so much fun to look at. The rooms were very clean. Loved the giant bean bag. Beds are very firm, but we slept well. Helpful front desk staff. The guys in the restaurant downstairs were awesome. We only ate breakfast there, and although the food isn't gourmet,... more

I had read about this hotel in various magazines & online sources so I thought I'd give it a try rather than stick with a safe hotel choice. The man at the front desk was very curt when checking me in - just "sign here" "give me your credit card" etc. No one offered to help with my bag. When... more

I went here with my son who loves all things Japanese. The location is right in Japantown, so it was perfect. If you love Japanese pop culture, you'll appreciate the design. Beyond that, it is simply a great place to stay. The beds were very comfortable and the linens were fresh and clean. All the furniture seemed new. The bathroom... more

We booked this hotel through Expedia after looking at the reviews on Trip Advisor. On arriving at San Francisco Airport we took a short (40mins) shuttle bus drive to the hotel, which is situated in the heart of the city's Japan Town. There was no trouble with our room and although we were on the 8th floor, the lift was... more

Does not feel like a typical US hotel, the halls are small, and lobby has video games and anime. Room was normal size and had the usual amenities but with bold mural and solid colors. I liked it but some people might hate it. It is a long walk from Bart, so non-athletic people need to take taxi or bus... more

We stayed at Hotel TOMO on a whim. We were attending the San Francisco International Film Festival and a late night horror film kept us from traveling home that night. We decided to stay at the Hotel Tomo and boy what a decision that was! Me and my Nephew are jPop fanatics! Everything from Anime to Japanese rock music are... more
