Cozy, friendly, well located, clean, boutique type hotel. Hosted wine reception each evening from 5:30 tlo 6:00. Really good restaurant, outstanding staff. Close to public transportation and the Civic Center area. 15 minute walk to Union Square.

I have always had a good experience as a business traveler here. The room is clean and there is a parking garage down the street (though you can also valet park). One of my favorite go to Joie de Vivre hotels as it almost always has vacancy and treat JDV members well.

First vacation to SF, and Hotel Carlton was part of our perfect trip. Staff was A+ welcoming, approachable, helpful and good sense of humor (appreciated). Room was a B though very clean, lobby and staff an A, Saha has wonderful food. Location is great. Will go again
