First of all, if this is your first trip to SF, pay the extra charge for the upper floor with a view of the Golden Gate Bridge. Even if it's a little foggy, you still have a great view of the surrounding area. The room was a little smaller than other places we stayed on our trip, but was upscale,... more

There no good reason not to stay at the Comfort Inn, since it's not bad at all and prices are reasonable for SF. The location itself is great if you want to see the greater SF area. When we arrived we could park our car next to the front door and were able to get the bags out easily (we... more

A friend and I stayed at this hotel recently and had a wonderful time! Our room was a double and plenty big for two people. We had a wonderful view of Golden Gate Bridge (room 907), were just 2 blocks from the "Crookedest Street," and were about 6-8 blocks from Fisherman's Wharf. All in all, we thought it was a... more

The car park is a rat hole and it does not help when you have several large suitcases and stairs to negotiate to the lift.On arrival at check in we had wait while our room was prepared along with about twenty other travelers , there was no where to sit although the open plan dining area was free but no... more

I stayed here with my husband and teenage daughter at the end of July for 3 nights as the first stop on our around the world tour. The hotel is convenient for viewing Fishermans' Wharf, the crooked road and to get to trams. The room we were given had a wonderful view of the Golden Gate Bridge and we had... more

Room was TINY for 4 people! The beds particularly were not really big enough for 2 adults! Breakfast was ok although a limited choice of toast or waffles or a few other random bits and bobs. Location was quite good, could walk up the hill for about 2 blocks to the crooked road or down the hill a few blocks... more

This place does have a great view, but what it is lacking is true air conditioning. I stayed in a top floor premier room. The rate is good for San Francisco, but my stay was sheer hell as the temperature never dropped below 80 Fahrenheit even with the curtains closed all day & the air conditioning (so-called) blasting on full... more

After reading all of the reviews, I cannot believe the hotel that we stayed at and the one described in the reviews are the same. Negative points: * Room was tiny! I have stayed in larger rooms in Europe. The bathroom was so small, the open door almost touched the toilet. * We had an inside room facing the wall... more

We just returned from vacation in northern CA. Comfort Inn by the Bay was a great hotel for the value. It's about a 5-10 minute walk to Fisherman's Wharf right by Lombard Street. We had a terrific King suite which was surprisingly spacious. The continental breakfast was a typical breakfast. Staff was outstanding- always helpful with directions and suggestions. Another... more
