I am writing this review from my wonderful room at Hotel Drisco. My husband and I are traveling in San Francisco for business and it is our last day/night at Drisco and I wanted to make sure I captured my experience here accurately. Upon our arrival four days ago, we were greeted by a very friendly staff that helped us... More

Dear Guest, I feel the same way about the Drisco! I just love coming to the hotel every day and working with my exceedingly friendly and accommodating staff to make sure everyone is comfortable and well looked after. I am so glad that we made you feel at home -- that is our goal. Many of the "little touches" you... More

I am generally wary of staying at hotels that call themselves "boutique" because this is too often a euphemism for small and run-down. The Drisco is a wonderful exception. The lobby and sitting areas downstairs are elegant and inviting, as are the rooms. I hadn't asked for a room with a view, but I could see the Bay, the Presidio,... More

Dear Guest, Thank you for your very kind comments. You are absolutely correct that our location should be a consideration when choosing to stay at the Drisco. If you are interested in stepping out your door and having all manner of attractions (shopping, dining, cable cars) within a few steps, there are some nice hotels in the Union Square area... More

Unmatched in respect, personal care, and quiet surrounding in my 23 years of travel in the US for a mid size hotel. This place used to be a boarding house for the rich and famous mistresses a hundred years ago, today it stands charming and elegant very much like an English boarding house. The staff and the guests (some of... More

Dear Guest, I am so pleased you noticed all our little English touches! I used to travel to London frequently and have lived there in the past as well. As an admitted Anglophile, it just didn't seem civil to me to offer currant scones at breakfast without also offering clotted cream and lemon curd. Our guestroom closets would be incomplete... More

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Drisco in January for our elopement to City Hall. When we arrived, we found that the staff had upgraded our one-bedroom suite to a suite with a city view. We walked into our gorgeous room, with fresh fruit and chocolate cookies waiting for us, and saw the city view looked right at... More

Hotel Drisco is the PERFECT place to stay while in San Francisco. You feel like you're visiting a close friend--the staff are friendly but not intrusive, very helpful. The rooms are beautiful and clean, mattresses comfortable and superb bathrooms. Hotel Drisco is nestled in one of the nicest neighborhoods of SF--grand, beautiful houses atop a hill, close to the Presidio. I... More

Great place. Well located away from the noise and stress of the city but surprisngly close to everything. Fishermans Wharf is an interesting walk down the hill, The Presedio is a walk away, great resturants and shops a couple of blocks the other way. Amongst some of very expensive homes it was an different exerience everyday.... and the views from... More

The Hotel Drisco is located in Pacific Heights -- one of the most upscale residential neighborhoods in San Francisco. It is surrounded by lovely homes and condominiums, enjoying hilltop views of city and Bay, and your stay there will make you feel like you live in that beautiful neighborhood, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of touristy Fisherman's Wharf... We loved it. We stayed there with our kids in one of the suites and really felt that we were coming 'home' every night - not to a hotel room. The staff were lovely and really nice with the kids. Pacific Heights is a great part of town. We were glad to be out of the CBD and the courtesy... More

A wonderful stay in a neighbourhood that we grew to love. I was initially concerned that I'd booked a hotel out of the thick of things, but found the neighbourhood full of great places to eat, as well as extremely beautiful and actually pretty central. In addition, there was a free car service to town every morning, and a wine... More

This was our second trip to San Francisco. The first we stayed in the Union Square area and this time we decided to stay here, which is in the Pacific Heights area (this is about a 45 minute walk to Union Square area or a short taxi ride). We loved this hotel, it had a really nice feel to it.... More
