We visited Bayfield in mid June when things were quiet and the lupine was in full bloom. We had been hiking in Minnesota and decided to come to Bayfield to see the Apostle Islands. Little did we know we would also find Thimbleberry Inn...a wonderful B & B. It's private with incredibly lovely forest and lake views and the breakfast... more

The Thimbleberry Inn was a nice bed and breakfast. It was clean and relaxing. The food was very good. We enjoyed the afternoon treats that were brought to our room. The views were beautiful. My only complaint was that I felt like I couldn't take a long shower because we were told to make them quick. I totally understand why... more

Bayfield offers many lodging choices & we have tried many over the years, there is nothing that compares with Thimbleberry - The most gracious owners, go way out of their way to make certain your every need is met. The breakfast is divine & the setting is glorious. You won't want to leave! more

Innkeepers Sharon and Craig Locey, in the B&B which Craig designed and which became Thimbleberry Inn, welcomed us many times over. Their knowledge of the area is extensive, Sharon's breakfast cuisine is scrumptious, and their attention to detail and care for guests is truly wonderful. We stayed two nights and thought we would be up to our own devices in... more

Two days at the Thimbleberry Inn was like a slice of Heaven. Sharon and Craig are gracious and thoughtful, attentive to all your needs. Our room, the Basswood, was comfy with an incredible view of the Islands. Our love seat had the most spectacular view and total privacy. Sharon is an outstanding cook and each breakfast and nightly treats are... more

We just spent our 19th wedding anniversary in Bayfield at the Thimbleberry Inn Bed & Breakfast. This was our 6th stay at The Thimbleberry Inn. Like a fine wine, Thimbleberry gets better with age. The food is outstanding and the atmosphere and rustic setting overlooking Lake Superior and Basswood Island makes this a GREAT romantic getaway. Sharon and Criag (Innkeppers)... more

As I write this review, I am recalling what my husband and I value most in a bed and breakfast. Qualities that come to mind are 1) beautiful setting, relatively close to things to do; 2) comfortable, clean and spacious rooms with a homey feel; 3) great and imaginative food at breakfast; 4) quiet location; 5) warm and comfortable feel... more

I have been to Thimbleberry several times and every stay is perfect. The first time I stayed was over 15 years ago and the rooms are still meticulously maintained and Innkeeper Sharon makes sure that everything is perfect. The breakfasts were superb and my two friends and I had just the right amount of relaxation and fun in Bayfield! more

Normally, I prefer not to stay in B & B's, but my wife and friends wanted to stay at this particular inn and am I ever glad we did. As with all of the other reviews, we cannot say enough about this fabulous place and these truly wonderful innkeepers. Having stayed in many places in Bayfield (including other B &... more

Our stay was fabulous from the minute we got there until the time we left. Both Sharon and Craig were warm, friendly, and very helpful (ideas for restaurants and activities). They made the stay so relaxing. They are very knowledgeable about the area. We've been to lots of b&b's, but this one was special. You are greeted with warm muffins... more
