What a great place to spend 2 nights while visiting Harpers Ferry. The town is something all by itself, but the Laurel Lodge was amazing. Getting out of DC on a Friday evening was frustrating, but the result was a world of comfort. Laurel Lodge is authentic turn-of-the-century bungalow both inside and out. My experience with Laurel Lodge was fantastic. The innkeepers were delightful and accomodating. The tour of the lodge and grounds was wonderful and the atmosphere was relaxing and warm. We had never stayed in a bed and breakfast before, so I wasn't sure exactly what to expect. Laurel Lodge, however, was perfect and then some. We spent 2 nights and found the place very nice -- quiet, interesting, good view of river and woods; excellent breakfasts (very good!) and host and good hiking (do Maryland Heights). My husband and I visited the Laurel Lodge for our honeymoon weekend. What a fantastic place! The innkeepers couldn't have been more welcoming but weren't intrusive.
