This was the most beatiful and serene place. Great Rooms Beautifully Decorated and Remarkably clean. The new management is working out all of the kinks and making positive changes. They are in the process of adding a massage therapist to the staff. Currently, due to the resorts secluded location all spa services must be scheduled in advance to ensure a... more

This is a tough one to rate, because it had some pleasant touches, but was kind of a ripoff. I foolishly waited until pretty late to book a place, thinking the remoteness of Big Bend meant no urgency to reserve. But all the cheap places I attempted were either booked up or wouldn't even pick up the phone. This was... more

We loved staying at the Officers Quaters because we had the most beautiful view of the Ambush Golf Course and mountains. The quality of the in room amenities were a nice touch and the cleaniness of the room was awesome. We enjoyed being able to sit out on our own private patio to watch the sun rise and sunset. Lajitas... more

Upon arriving in 107 degree weather and after 2 days on a canoe trip, my son and I hoped to rest and relax at this "resort". Well, "resort" is certainly a misnomer. After I asked about all the flies in the restaurant, I was told "flies were what you have to expect in the desert", a tiny pool with no... more

Maybe it was because we were there during the week (Wed-Fri), maybe it springs to life on weekends, but as far as we were concerned, this was Lajitas Hotel and Restaurant, not Lajitas Resort and Spa. Given the remote location, operating and maintaining this property would be an extreme challenge. Situated between Big Bend Ranch State Park and Big National... more

Our six night stay beginning April 19 was great! Our room at the Officer's Quarters was very clean and comfortable at the end of each long adventure-filled day. David, a new addition to the resort, was very friendly and helpful in insuring that any request we had was fulfilled. He, and the rest of the staff were very accommodating. Kim,... more

It was my parents (in their sixties) first time in Texas, so I took them to visit Big Bend and we stayed at the Lajitas. I had booked a suite with 2 queen beds through their website (www.lajitas.com). From the very first, there were some problems. During check-in, the employee gave me the invoice and told me to look it... more

Just got back from 5 days in the Big Bend area and stayed at Lajitas for 4 nights. It was perfect for our family. (Me, my husband and 5 years old twins) The kids loved the pool and it was very clean and well kept. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful and well manicured. After hiking and canoeing, I... more

My wife, sons (ages 21 and 12) and I love the Big Bend area and have visited a number of times. Native Texans but living in NJ now (?!! go figure). We had never been to Lajitas, and decided to give it a try under the new ownership. We went immediately following Spring Break and they were just getting over... more

Didn't stay at the resort due to the high prices and recent less then stellar reviews. Main goal was to GOLF LAJITAS now that the prices are reasonable. We stayed in Big Bend at the Chisos Lodge and took the day off from touring Big Bend to play golf here. We also found it odd that there were no signs... more
