Every member of the staff we encountered was competent and friendly, from the front desk to the housekeeper to the breakfast person. We didn't have the highest of hopes for this hotel, until we saw what else was on offer in Gunnison!! Suddenly, this became an oasis of luxury. Ok, so it's a Holiday Inn.....how good does it get? We stayed a couple of nights here on a tour of Western US. As a mid-price base to check out this pretty part of the US, this place is ideal. It's obviosuly quite new and the rooms were a decent size, very clean and perfectly well appointed. It's a relatively small town and this certainly looked the best accommodation available.... more

After a "long and winding road" from Taos, through the San Juan Mountains, we were pleasantly surprised by the Holiday Inn Express. We stayed in a few questionable motels in central Colorado prior to spending the night in Gunnison at this new Holiday Inn Express. We were able to enoy a great night's rest in a clean, safe and modern hotel -- very welcome. The pool and hot tubs are relaxing and the Pioneer Museum just across the street is a gem.... more
