We recently enjoyed our first visit to the Sourwood Inn and can't wait to go back. The Innkeepers couldn't be more warm, friendly and eager to share their love of the mountains with the guests. They are lifelong residents of Asheville and a great resource for any thing you want to do in the area. The wildflowers were in full... More

We recently spent 3 wonderful days at the Sourwood. We went there on the recommendation of friends, and have recommended the Sourwood to several of our friends since we've returned. We echo the responses of other TA advisors about the many attributes of the Sourwood. We stayed on the 2nd floor in room 6 and recommend that floor for the... More

Our favorite place to stay in Asheville! It is the best of both worlds.. close to the eclectic city but in a beautiful mountain setting with views and an ever changing nature trail! Susan the inn keeper is so warm and makes everyone just feel good to be around her! The food is great and LOVE the cookies in the... More

We stayed at the Sourwood Inn on a recent chilly March weekend and had a terrific time. The Inn is tastefully decorated in an Arts & Craft style with great fireplaces, local art, and nice architectural details. There were sweet and savory snacks in the lobby when we arrived, which we sampled with the wine we had brought with us.... More

I have stayed many times at the Sourwood Inn, and it a very special place. For a wonderful get-away for romance, rest, or simply a great place to explore Asheville, this is the place. The rooms are wonderful--spacious, plenty of antiques and character but with a clean touch, and a gorgeous bath that makes you feel beautiful. The staff is... More

The drive in is definitely not for the faint-hearted...or large SUVs! It's one lane in and out and whew...terrible steep down one side with no guardrail. Not a good idea to arrive in the dark, that's for sure! But if you are looking for peace & tranquility a bit off the beaten path, you have found it. Less than 15... More

Could not have asked for a better weekend getaway. Comfortable, clean, warm, inviting. Felt at home right away. This is not just because of the facilities - the folks who run it make it so much more special. Just the right amount of privacy. The views from the room - and bathroom - are amazing. Lots of stuff to do... More

My wife and I discovered this wonderful 12 room inn about 9 years ago when it was written up in Southern Living. It is located near Asheville, NC just off the Blue Ridge Parkway at about 3300 feet elevation. We have been back every year. Each room is beautifully finished and has a fireplace, with no TV in the room.... More

We have stayed at The Sourwood Inn on several occasions when looking for a weekend getaway in Asheville. The rooms are large, roomy and so cozy with the fireplace and the small balcony. The bathrooms are amazing. Large tub and rain shower head. No TV's in the rooms, but who cares? We always have dinner at the restaurant so we... More
