You could spend twice as much at the G**** P**** Inn, but why (unless you are a snob). The Applewood, built in 1910, is operated by a lovely couple, Larry and Nancy, who truly enjoy welcoming, feeding, and chatting with their guests in their lovely home. Go ahead - take your wine and cheese into the sitting room and play... More

We had a wonderful stay at the Applewood Manor for a long weekend after Valentines Day weekend. Although the weather was cold and rainy, our stay in the Inn was warm and relaxing. The guests there sociable and informative about venues they had discovered, which was a help to the rest of us. Our room was extremely comfortable with a... More

We were in Asheville visiting a student at UNCA & spent a wonderful weekend at Applewood Manor. The room were stayed in was well appointed; the large tub in Cortland Cottage was bonus! The breakfast was good, so good we bought a copy of the local recipe book. The back yard of the inn was really great; it was large,... More

Larry and Nancy and their staff make sure all your needs are met from where to dine to what to see. The rooms are quiet and comfortable. Breakfasts are bountiful. The home beautifully decorated and is located in a lovely neighborhood with easy access to everything. We also enjoyed having the room with the private deck on the second floor.This... More

We picked Applewood Manor from the reviews and information listed on tripadvisor. The wonderful home, gardens and breakfast exceeded our expectations. We stay in a lot of B&B's and this rates as one of the best. The owners, Nancy and Larry Merrill, made our stay like we were visiting good friends. Do yourself a huge favor and stay there. You'll... We had 3 great nights in the Winesap suite. Nancy and Larry are the perfect hosts and you could not feel more at home. The inn is very quiet and the Winesap suite is beautiful. Breakfasts were excellent made by nancy and entertainingly served by larry. Little details such as your room made up while you are at breakfast, wine... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay during our honeymoon. The owners were the friendliest hosts, and made us feel like family. The breakfast was state-of-the-art every morning, and the wine and cheese social hour in the evenings was always something to look forward to. The location is perfect if you want to be away from the noise of the city, yet... More

My husband and I recently decided to visit Asheville for a relaxing weekend. Looking for somewhere different to stay we decided to try a B and B. The reviews of Applewood Manor Inn were fantastic so we decided to give it a try. It turned out to be on of the best places we have ever stayed. Larry and Nancy... More

This B&B is everything you want in a B&B experience -- and we even found it to be luxurious, unlike many B&Bs! We had to arrive very late (after midnight), and I was worried that the innkeepers might be upset by this -- not at all. When we called to tell them about our late arrival, Larry gave us very... From the moment of checking till check out, this was a wonderful experience. Nancy and Larry went out of their way to make this a great experience. Easy instructions at check-in, great recommendations for dinner downtown, and breakfast was the best. We had exceptional interactions with our hosts. I would highly recommend this experience. BTW: the room was awesome!!
