I came to Asheville to attend my husband graduation from Warren Wilson's writing program. I am a NYC kid and not into small town stays. That being said I found the Lion and the Rose a great retreat when not participating in graduation activities. The room was not large but well appointed and extremely clean-a major issue for me. The... More

We only stayed one night, but were very pleased. The inn keepers are great and the house is very welcoming. We had this wonderful mandarin banana dish for breakfast followed by some mouthwatering french toast and sausage. The hot water in the shower fluctuated a bit, but we would still recommend The Lion and The Rose! More

Unfortunately, we were only able to spend one night of our trip here and we greatly regret it. The B&B is beautiful, the innkeepers extremely friendly and helpful, and the breakfast phenomenal! This will definitely be a place we will revisit for a longer stay next time! More

The breakfast was amazing. We had a wonderful french toast dish one morning, a fantastic cheese grits dish one day, and a puff pastry dish with ham and asparagus on our last day. The presentation was beautiful and each main dish was preceded by a fruit dish. The owners are friendly. The home is beautiful and spotless. Our room was... More

My husband and I stayed here one night on our way home from visiting his family for Christmas. We both loved this B&B and wished we had time to stay longer. We'll definitely be going back there on our next trip to Asheville. The house and rooms are beautifully decorated. Jim and Linda clearly pay a lot of attention to... More

Jim and Linda, the innkeepers, are both very gracious, friendly, and attentive without being intrusive. It is obvious they love sharing their lovely home with guests, and Jim's culinary skills are evident in his delicious breakfast creations that rival the fare at the best restaurants in a city known for its good eateries. What a wonderful stay we had! Jim and Linda are so friendly, they accommodated to any of our special food requests, provided a tip sheet for good restaurants ... We stayed late November, so the area was not at its best with all the trees bare. But it is very quiet and their little, beautifully groomed garden invites for a... More

An elegant yet casual B & B located in the historic district, convenient to all. The furnishings are beautiful, the beds very comfy and everything is impeccably clean. The hosts, Jim and Linda, make you feel at home, offering extras like toiletries you may have forgotten, hair dryer in the room, plush robes and free access to a pantry with... More

Lion and Rose is a perfect combination of elegance, comfort, convenience, and congeniality... The suite was impeccably furnished but welcoming ... Jim and Linda were wonderful hosts and Jim's breakfasts are fit for a London club! ... More

We visited over a weekend in November to see the Biltmore and other sights. Everything is so convenient from the B&B, and the innkeepers are great! So many personal touches, it's hard to list them all. They serve up a DELICIOUS gourmet breakfast every morning, and keep a pantry stocked with snacks and drinks. Our room was very comfortable and...
