I've been going to the GPI for over 40 years and expect to continue. The Drake, The Waldorf Astoria, The Jefferson, The Greenbriar -- all the grand early 20th century hotels are like an old friend or an old lover. They've seen better days, they're better on some days than others, and there are better ones out there somewhere. But,... More

I recently accompanied my husband for a 2 night stay at the Grove Park Inn while he was attending a work-related conference. We were disappointed to learn that the renovations for their upcoming 100th anniversary celebration were not complete by the time of the conference despite what the conference organizers were promised. Our first room on the 6th floor in... More

I need to preface this review and let you know that I have stayed at the Grove Park 4 times. We drop our daughter off at camp and stay the weekend. We love the Grove Park and it is something I look forward to every summer. However, this trip was not a good experience. Room - we were placed in... More

Stopped by for drinks and enjoy the view. Did not reserve room. Veranda under construction no room to sit under cover all used for dining. Too warm even in June to enjoy view for long. Drinks very over rated and pricey.

We spent the weekend at the Grove Park Inn and stayed in the Sammons wing while renovations were ongoing and the rooms badly need updating. The bathrooms are very outdated and for $300 at night, one would expect more. There is a $25.00 daily resort fee to use the work out center/indoor pool. The out door pool requires a shuttle... More

Knowing full well that this is a resort and being we stayed for our anniversary, understand they charge you for everything from parking to the room to "resort fees". We stayed here for two nights and our bill was over $1200. You are paying for the view of the mountains and the asheville area. The service was very good, with... More

This is our second stay at Grove Park and also disappointed. We were unaware of the construction when we booked & only informed a few days before arrival. The renovations are massive & going on in almost every area of the hotel. Although workers polite - it is noisy & messy. They have also changed some of the furniture in... More

Once a beautiful cream-of-the-crop hotel, The Grove Park Inn has seen its downfall from a once five-star hotel, to a one star. Having stayed here a number of times in years past, this facility has unfortunately gone way downhill, to say the least. The two rooms we checked into recently resembled a dark basement-like facility with despicable carpeting and furnishings.... More

We visited the GPI for our anniversary in May and were excited to be able to bring our dogs for the visit. Unfortunately, the stay was an unmitigated disaster. The main building is stunning and the staff is friendly, but the wings are either under construction or badly in need of updating. We did not get a chance to enjoy... More

My husband and I decided to stay here for our anniversary recently. We had a blast! The service was fantastic and we loved our room that was in the old part of the hotel over looking the courtyard. We had the best time going to the dueling pianos one evening (those guys are so hysterical!) We also played Golf and... More
