The best western I had booked had a problem the first night, so my business friend and myself were re-booked to the farrington for one night. The Inn is in a residential neighborhood, but once you get inside is a mix between a half-way house, filthy hostel, and the bates motel. The reviews on this site don't lie: The room... more

You may not want the corporate "Holiday Inn" experience, but there's no excuse for places like this. Having toured New England, staying in independent lodgings, this was by far the worst. The room was filthy, the bedding unhygienic, the staff sullen and the welcome underwhelming. Every door has seen the attention of a jemmy at some point and it was... more

My husband and I were reminiscing about our worst hotel experience ever. By far, after 28 years of extensive traveling, the Farrington Inn is the worst, scariest place still not condemned and still tricking visitors into staying there (where IS the health department, by the way? Who has jurisdiction?) To describe it as the hotel from Psycho is a start.... more

My husband and I stayed at this "place" in 2000. It was filthy to say the least. I unknowingly acquired bedbugs there and brought them home to my bed. Needless to say, my mattress got infested and I had to replace it! It's location is in an unsavory part of town. There are also strange, noisy people staying there. Our... more

After seeing this 'cute' little place on their website, we decided to give it a try although we soon wish we hadn't. From the front of the building, the place looked really quaint, but as soon as we stepped inside, the weirdness began. There is no 'reception' in the house, just a phone to ring when you arrive or need... more

My wife and I decided to go to the farrington Inn so I could take a test at Harvard just five min's from this horrible disaster. We got there after taking very bad directions from the RUDE man over the phone who yelled at me and called me names. however, you may ask why did we stay here--its CHEAP we... more

So after reading all the reviews about this hostels, my friends and I were really concerned. I was actually looking for other places to stay while being in Boston. We got there wednesday afternoon and checked in. The guy there was soooooo nice and very helpful. We then saw our rooms and I was ready to see a dump but... more

I wanted to report my experience of attempting to book a room here. (I didn't originally want to stay here but the places I did want were full for the night I needed.) First of all, the reservation system on the Farrington's Web site didn't work. So I called the inn around 6 pm on a Friday. The guy who... more

Had a chat today at work about Boston, so I thought I'd check out the worst hotel I've ever stayed in, ever, on Tripadvisor. We stayed there in 2001, I can't believe it's still open! We were unfortunate enough to hit Boston at Harvard Graduation, so this was all that was left. It was a disgusting, smelly, dirty, horrible place.... more

This place realized a nightmarish scenario: we (three of us) got to Boston around 6:00 am on Sat., June 9th. We asked for a room for 3 people and were quoted a price of $85 for a night's stay which we agreed to. We were clear about our expectation that we're paying for a night's stay there (despite the checkout... more
