The first thing that you see when you you walk in the hotel is the nice lobby area! The staff is nice and willing to lend a helping hand! Our key card did not open from the outside and a hotel employee was ready to help out. The front desk even checked if we made it to our room safely.... more

I stayed here for 2 nights in April 2008 and the whole hotel(lobby, rooms, pool, breakfast area, and grounds are fresh, clean up-to-date, and nicely furnished. As a previous poster said that the rooms are 70's and worn is not the case. The rooms have been recently renovated( new carpet, furniture, beds/bedding, T.V.'s, granite bathrooms, ect . A good percentage... more

At the last minute, I had to scramble to find an adequate place to stay that was both near the airport and cruise pier before our cruise mid-April. Originally, we were booked into another hotel that was undergoing heavy construction/renovation and had awful reviews on this website. Glad I found this Hampton Inn. It had just finished undergoing a major... more

We stayed here in January 2008. This hotel is very dated. The furnishings are older and the wallpaper in the rooms is peeling. We requested a room with a microwave and refrigerator and the room was suprisingly large. The pool is located in a center courtyard and I don't know if it is heated. We did not use the pool... more

This hotel was unusual but not in an entirely bad way. The hotel itself was good-fair. One one hand, customer service was friendly, helpful, and proactive. The rooms, too, were clean and odor free. On the other hand, the walls are rather thin so room-to-room noise was occasionally noticeable and outdoor noise was VERY noticeable. Also, road access to/ from... more

The location is close to all major vacation places. The Hotel is clean and the staff is very good. The price is right. The only downside is that the area is more business aka not a resort. What you save in hotel expenses more than makes up for the location. It is not great but it is not bad. .Slightly... more

We stayed at the Hampton Inn-Sea World area during a long weekend trip to S.D. this past weekend. San Diego is a great city to visit, although personally I could never live there unless I was rich and had a boat. As for the Hampton Inn, this particular one is not the nicest in the network, but it definitely is... more

We had a room with a balcony, great room, great internet service, staff very professional. Never heard the train I have read on oher reviews. The location, at least for us, was perfect, minutes away form the zoo, Mission Beach and not too far from downtown and the harbor. I was in the Navy here in the early seventies and... more

We stayed at the Hampton overnight before a cruise. We read the previous reviews and were prepared for the neighborhood. There are indeed strip clubs in close proximity to the hotel, but since we only there overnight, we spent all our time in the hotel and weren't impacted by any seediness. There is also a Denny's across the street, but... more

Nice room, nice lobby, nice staff. Raunchy neighborhood. As the French say: " C'est So Cal ". Well-lit parking lot, though, and no noise problem. I would stay here again. more
