Stayed just for a night on a quick business trip to San Diego. I like staying in the Del Mar area, since it's usually cheaper than downtown or Hotel Circle, and traffic usually not an issue getting in or out of the city. Plus there's easy access to Hwy 101 and all the beach communities. This is a standard Hampton... more

We stayed at this hotel for three nights during our recent vacation to San Diego. There was me, my hubby, and my son. The hotel was clean and the front desk staff were pretty helpful. The room was also very clean but small. I think this hotel is just fine for the business traveller, but it did not meet my... more

We just spent two (weekend) nights at this hotel and were pleased with our experience. The front desk staff were friendly and efficient; Marie was particularly helpful and kind. Our room was clean and comfortable, with plenty of pillows provided and a bathroom larger than most. Although the hotel was practically full both nights of our stay, we never heard... more

Located in a quiet upscale office park with several other hotels, across street from a 12 story Marriott & Tio Leo Mexican Restaurant, 2 blocks to a Souplantation. good exercise rm - 1 treadmill & 4 other workout stations, computer available (often slow) in corner of breakfast rm, ethernet cable at table in room. Large upscale breakfast area - better... more

Don't be fooled by the Hampton Inn name - great for the price. Convenient access to the freeway & restaurants are nearby. A gas station right next door. Rooms were clean & enough room for a family of 4. Breakfast was avail w/staff checking to make sure everything was replenished & constantly cleaning. Definitely will stay here again. more

If you are looking for a nice, clean, and comfortable place to stay while in La Jolla, Del Mar, or San Diego, this is it. I have stayed at much more expensive places nearby, and they weren't as nice. The room was comfortable and clean and the hotel seems relatively new. The bed was nice, I am one to have... more

We stayed here overnight during the Christmas holidays. Very convenient to the freeways, but there's noise from the passing cars. Ask for a room away from the traffic. The breakfast buffet was more than adequate. All in all, a fine place for the short term. Rooms were basic but clean. Adequate free parking and a gas station next door. more

Perfectly fine value for the money, but don't expect to go anywhere except by car. Torrey pines Beach and the Del Mar beaches are close, but the hotel itself sits in a crotch of freeway access and gas station/fast food/office complexes. And they really shouldn't be able to call that a pool. After we moved here(we stayed here while waiting... more

My husband, two teenage children and I stayed in a suite in this hotel for 4 nights in September 2005. We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel has good access to I5 but is not noisy. The suites are very comfortable with two bathrooms, a king bed in the main bedroom, and a sofa sleeper (plus rollaway) in the other... more

Just got back from four nights/five days in sunny San Diego. After doing a ton of research on this website, I settled on the Hampton Inn/Del Mar. And I wasn't disappointed. It's darn near perfect if you're going to the races or anything at the fairgrounds. The rooms are not fancy by any means, but they're clean and have everything... more
