Rooms and buildings need upgrading, look to be 30 yrs old ++, chipped tiles, old carpets. Clean enough, but nothing special. More of a family oriented hotel. Wasn't crazy about the location...its ok, on the marina. Stayed at the B/W Island Palms located on Shelter Island. The front desk crew was out of sight. They couldn't do enough for us. The room was very clean with a very comfy king bed. Stayed at the hotel many times. It is by far the best Best Western I've ever encountered. The staff is fantastic, the restaurant is great, and the prices are reasonable. You can't beat the location and they have their own Marina. I do not like the fact that the hotel and marina do not package rooms and boat slips together.... more
