We stayed at the Doubltree during my Naval retirement ceremony. My friend checked in as I went on some errands. Our initial room was facing North towards the highway and flight path. My friend was so stunned by the noise when he entered the room that he thought the windows were open. They weren't. We were moved to a room... more

We can only advise to stay far away from this hotel! Their hygiene standards are dismal, the attitude of their staff shocking. My husband was on business travel and woke up in the middle of the night - there were bedbugs and fleas and mites in his bed, dozens! He immediately went to the reception and and showed them the... more

BAD: Daily Parking $20, cramped parking spaces with tight turns, small lobby area, tub and sink slow draining, loud noises like someone chopping wood or knocking really loud whenever the A/C kicks on or off. Get your snacks elsewhere, a candy bar cost almost $2.00 in the giftshop. Room service already adds 19% + $3.00 delivery fee- so watch out!... more

Wow, I have never been bothered by noise in a hotel before and I am a world traveler. From the planes taking off every few minutes to the sirens on the highway those things can't be changed I understand. However the noise from the pipes is horrible and wakes you up every time someone sends water down the sink from... more

I booked this hotel via hotwire but was not informed that overnight parking entailed an additional $20 per nite fee. To make matters worse parking was very challenging in their very tight garage. The entrance ramp is extremely narrow which made it difficult for me to navigate using a mid size rental car I wasn't all too familiar with. I... more

We got this hotel from Priceline, I must say I was kind of scared when I found out this was the one we got, but heck for $95 a night it was great. When we arrived we were nicely greated by the desk attendant, she gave us a room on the side opposite to the freeway and it was great.... more

We had a great stay at the Doubletree. The hotel shuttle was fast and easy, just call when you land and they will be there within minutes. The rooms were nicely decorated and the beds were comfortable. If you stay on the side by the freeway the noise could be a problem. We could hear both the sounds of the... more

I stayed here for 4 nights for a work conference along with a bunch of other co-workers...we could not wait to leave. Overall, the hotel itself was nice, but the surrounding highway/train/siren/airport noise FAR outweighs the nice parts of the hotel and my stay, as well as my co-workers, pretty miserable. Pros: - nice rooms, comfy beds - decent simple... more

Our family loved this hotel. 3 miles to Balboa Park/San Diego Zoo, and very modern furnishings and contemporary lobby. We stayed on the 19th floor and our views of the harbor were fantastic. Used the pool on the 5th floor and while it was a smallish pool, it was nice and warm and great views of downtown. Only downside is... more

We had driven 500 miles from mid Baja and needed a place to stop in San Diego. The Best Western and Holiday Inn were full and the Doubletree wasn't. Rooms were around $200 each per night. Our rooms were on the 16th floor, overlooking the freeway, airport and school sports field. I think they were refurbished as they were more... more
