Very grand french style hotel, with a magnificent entrance and hall. Staff were very helpful and the room was fantastic, like being in an old movie. The bed was so high I had to literally jump to get in, and I'm 5'7"! The downside was that there was no car park, so you have to spend on the valet service.... more

I liked the hotel overall - it's a cute little boutique hotel. Meaning, the rooms are tiny, the beds are only full size and the bathroom is noisy and the showerhead is too low. It's in a fantastic location. But, I could hear my neighbor clearly and the toilet - well it's a blast from the past with the tank... more

The Horton Grand Hotel is certainly a unique hotel with its historic architecture and atypical interior design and appointments in the public areas. In addition, its location is by all means excellent given its proximity to the Gaslamp Quarter and access to public transit for excursions outside the immediate area. That said, there are plenty of hotels in the area... more

Where do we begin???? Extremely poor communications with front desk prior to arrival. Very odd check in procedure requiring a sign off with penalty for an early departure, all the while a photo of Wyatt Earp was watching us at the front desk. Lobby area was constantly cold and not welcoming. Umpteen chairs and couches positioned everywhere, but none are... more

Stayed twice in February - was intrigued by the history of the hotel. I will say I was impressed and very pleased staying there in fact I bookrd another weekend a few weeks later. The location was great--Its not in the heart of the craziness of the gas lamp quarter but more towards the end kind of off the beaten... more

Booked this hotel for $99 for 3 nights through Wyndham by agreeing to go to a timeshare presentation. However, there were an addition $94 in taxes and fees so the deal ended up not being all that great. The hotel was very clean but very victorian. It way too much for my taste, keeping in mind that I love modern... more

If one selects a hotel based on the internet, consider this hotel as being nothing like the internet. Lovely place to wander through and admire decor but cold, unfriendly place to stay. There isn't a restaurant,no room service(altho an order form was in the room) but shampoo and soap weren't. It never warmed up in the room at all during... more

The Horton Grand has potential but it clearly needs to be renovated. The location is good, within minutes walking distance of attractions, restaurants and shopping. My room was pretty well cared for and seemed clean enough but the entire property is dated. The décor and furniture come off as an old tired themed hotel. The standard amenities you find in... more

This hotel was booked for me and 7 co-workers for a conference in town. Used to staying at "standard" 2-star hotels for business travel, like Hyatt, Marriott, etc. I have to say that this hotel was unacceptable for me. The hotel had a stale, musty odor that was covered up with too much fragrance. The room was clean enough, but... more
