I read the reviews here and not sure about all the negative comments. My sense is that people didn't know what to expect and because they made the wrong decision due to not researching the place well enough, you cannot give a bad review for a place that never indicated otherwise. This place is simple, rustic living. If you are... more

I stay at the Holden Inn 2 to 3 times a year and have never had a problem with Fred and Patti. In fact they go out of there way if I need anything. One year the battery in my camera died and no stores in the area. Fred was in Hyannis and his son called him and asked him... more

If you are looking for a luxuries place to stay, why stay at a place that offers a homelike atmosphere. I throughly enjoyed my stay and felt as if I were in a place that was homelike and clean. If you want pampered beyond belief, this is not for you. If you want peace and quiet and without interruptions, what... more

We are serious budget travelers and willing to put up with a lot for a decent (in this case I mean decent for Wellfleet, Cape Cod) price. (The location of the in btw can't be beat.) If you are willing to do so then perhaps consider staying at the not clean, completely not charming, tattered, utterly lacking in even the... more

My wife and I have traveled extensively all over the US and in other countries and never did we have a less enjoyable experience than in this inn. We have stayed in many places in undeveloped countries that were better than this place. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and we wanted to visit Wellfleet where I had once worked... more

While still fresh in my mind I thought I should write a review about the Holden Inn, Wellfeet MA. My spouse and I stayed at the inn with 3 other couples last weekend. What is positive about the inn is that it is a great location and the grounds are lovely. We did enjoy the view from the porch on... more

I have been vacationing at THE HOLDEN INN in Wellfleet on Cape Cod for the past 15 summers-usually more than once a summer-usually for at least week at a time-and here is why: 1) because of the low-priced but very comfy rooms-absolutely an IDEAL DEAL; 2) because of the quiet, residential feeling (IN Wellfleet, far from the highway)-the views of... more

Stayed for 2 nights in July 2008. The location is good - in a small village, close to the sea. Good garden and space. Nice to have a good weekend with friends - so you can occupy the whole building. If you seek some privacy - the rooms are small, and you do hear all other visitors... more

If you like rustic camping then this is the place for you. If you like any amenities you will be sorely disappointed. The Inn is very old which could be quaint with a little effort. There is a huge variation in rooms, some larger, some very small, some with window air conditioner, some with small fans. The bathrooms also vary considerably,... more

Management response from
beachesMa, owner

The inn does have different room options. When reservations are made the front desk person explains that there are rooms with private bath and rooms with shared bath. Yes, there is an outside unclosed shower that goes with 2 rooms.(Very common with Cape Cod lodging near the beach). If this guest wanted their sheets changed daily they should have notified...
