“Good room, high price”

Not sure why hotel rooms are so pricey in Carlsbad. There were few visitors to the Caverns this time of year. From the number of energy company trucks outside, perhaps it's the oil/gas boom. We had a satisfactory room, but at too great a price. Location is on the south side of Carlsbad, so is convenient to the park.

After a long day's drive it was great to have such a nice clean comfy place to stay. The room was very clean & the beds were great. Nice selection of pillows on each bed, nice bathroon amenities, good towels, etc. Prices in Carlsbad are higher than usual, so I'm glad the hotel's standards are high so you feel ok... More

“Better than expected, and I expected it to be nice”

Loved this hotel. The linens, the tv, the bed, the pool, and especially the breakfast - all delightful. If I had to be picky, I did wonder why did the two front desk staff were often in the back room. When I needed something, I just went to the side door (which was open), and interrupted their typing/conversation/whatever. Why not... More

“Typical Marriott - Location -Breakfast - Clean”

Typical Marriott ...good time to USE points due to higher than usual pricing. Ref laundry pool brealfask newspaper.... gpod locatiom. Moved here after terroble experience at B/W Stevens ( don't even consider them)

Clean, quiet and restful. Windows open, and lobby is filled with treats if you need them. At the edge of town which makes it seem safer and cleaner. Very nice at the end of a long hot day driving. “Best Hotel in Carlsbad”

One of the cleanest and nicest hotels I have stayed in period, not just in Carlsbad. Good selection for breakfast, heated pool and spa (ask at the front desk for pool towels). We stayed at this hotel during spring break this year. It was overpriced for the accommodations that was provided. The room was small but OK, but dirty linen was left in bathroom. The breakfast was better than average. The staff was not particularly friendly and I was left with the impression that they really didn't care whether we stayed there... More

My sorry we didn't meet your expectations. As far as price Carlsbad is going though an Oil Boom and there are a couple of hotels are priced even higher then we are. Thanks for staying with us. More

We stayed two nights in Carlsbad while on a tour of west Texas and the caverns. I used my Marriott reward points to book the room so cannot comment on the value. “great hotel .......but”

The hotel is modern, clean and well located in Carlsbad. We are Marriott Platinum Elite guests and expected an upgraded room...we didn't get it and in fact were put in a room facing the noisy street and right next to the noisy elevator. Tacky treatment .

“Nice but no bargain”

There is nothing the matter with this hotel, except for the price. Long time travelers to southern New Mexico are used to nice accommodations at very reasonable prices. As long as the 'mini oil boom' continues in this area (and good for Carlsbad, in general), hoteliers will continue the gouge. Harsh words but true. Venture further north where ther are... More
