I was greeted by Tejano clickity clank music, smoke and a gap-toothed and an abundantly tattooed clerk. It's difficult to ascertain as to whether it was cleanliness, manners or safety that was most lacking. We all 4 stayed in one room with 2 queen beds. The beds and pillows were not great, but the room was amazingly quiet. The hotel was packed and I was worried loud parties would keep us up, as usually happens at a very active motel. But it was a quiet night. The breakfast was crazy, and not too great.... more

Large room, nice pool, good beds. The room was fairly clean but could have been a bit cleaner. The pillows were lumpy foam rubber. Overall, not a bad choice in a tourist town. We give it thumbs up and would stay again. more

While the rooms we stayed in do not look upgraded (200 series), the beds are and feel new. Our room was located close to the main street. From the reviews posted I was apprehensive, but we were perfectly satisfied with this property. Perhaps the key is to state that one wants to be in a newer wing; seems all the complaints center on the older portion of this hotel/motel. more

We visited Carlsbad for one night to experience "Christmas on the Pecos." Both rooms we occupied were clean and spacious. We all thought the breakfast buffet was excellent as well. We would certainly stay here again. more
