Room was 85° when we opened the door. Why? Fortunately, AC/hear unit worked efficiently. However, toilet tight against jutting countertop, making it difficult to do your business. Hot water ran brown for 2 seconds after a flush. That, and the view, sketchy. Suggest staying at Hotel Chelsea if you can afford it. Neighborhood, perfect location. Sushi Seki, delicious next door!

Great location. Nice enough rooms for the price we paid. Central to most areas we wanted to visit. The most competitive price. Staff at the hotel were helpful and friendly. Penn street station is close by so easy train journey to airports.

Needed a place close to midtown and was not willing to spend $500 for a one night stay. This place was much cheaper than surrounding hotels and is literal steps away from 23rd street station making mobility extremely convenient. As other reviewers have pointed out, the mattresses are rock hard and very thin. Was challenging trying to get to sleep. We stayed in room 315 which is single queen room. Room has a desk, fridge, built in closet and tv mounted on the wall. The bathroom was a tub shower combo. Like others have also pointed out, the decor is dated and so are the rooms, but think more historical than dusty and it's okay. Wood trim on the walls kinda deal. In the morning they have bagels and muffins with coffee, just enough empty calories to get you moving to your next location. Overall, if they updated the rooms, they could easily charge the same $500 a night as the flashier hotels but instead they choose to budget and older and that's fine by us for the price.…

I was very comfortable, but my friends thought the beds were very uncomfortable—I was in a king, maybe they are better. Location is convenient but I wouldn’t say quiet. It’s on the bustling corner of a major street and a major avenue. Overall I liked it.

I chose the hotel for its reasonable price. The hotel is in a good place for easy access to touristic places. Room is small and not fancy but clean and good enough to stay a few nights. It also provide limited breakfast which was good enough.

The proximity of Penn Station makes this hotel perfect for visitors arriving and departing by train because the station is only a short walk away. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff friendly, and overall the hotel is good value in an expensive city like New York.

I have stayed here a few times , but this last time I had a really bad experience at this place . At the reception a blonde lady greets you very stressed and rude letting you know that check in time is at 2:30 or 3 without even checking availability. Then when you tell her to calm down , she checks again and there are rooms available . The lights at the room are not working , and of course I am not calling the stressed woman at the front desk . At checkout my flight was at 6 am . My Uber app wasn’t working properly. I asked the gentleman at the front desk to please call a taxi for me . He said only 72 USD and CASH !!!!! I told him I didn’t have enough cash and he said oh well that’s what I can do . Really bad feeling . Hope the managers read this . Maybe the stressed lady is the manager ;)…

The rooms are pretty comfortable and clean. Expect very basic equipment and old furniture. Don't be overwhelmed if a faucet in the bathroom is rusty or leaking a bit. That being said, if you're there to get a hold of NYC and use the room only for resting and recharging, the location and the price are a great bargain! In addition, the staff of the hotel is very friendly. The complimentary breakfast service which includes coffee/tea, pastries and a selection of some spreads is very good too.

Good location, close to all, subway, empire state, timesquare. Beside that terrible beds like bricks. They offer continental "breakfast" but terrible its not even that, just dry bred and coffee, come on what a shame...at least yogurth and fruit..the hotel its basic of the basic but considering that in NY all its expensive, its worth the price. I am unsure if i would consider it for a next time in NY.
